No, BE was released at exactly the same time. You're the guy that's asking if he can download it without GOLD, the answer is no. I have plenty of games that prevent you from dowloading DLC without GOLD, it's a crappy practice and doesn't look like it's going to end soon.

Wow that is crappy, like holy crap

Having to pay monthly to download something that's free

Anyone else just feel like they can't be bothered to farm gold / mats endlessly for these 'new' schematics?

I don't. I use CheatEngine.

Yup, I played the game legit until the endgame and then I used cheat engine to give me unlimited money. Nobody's got time to spend ages farming.

So, still not BE for PS4. Maybe it'll be around when I get back from work.

Isabela and the new multiplayer map both look gorgeous, you might like it...

I have zero interest in DA MP.

Good Lord. The way you people are  complaining, you'd think you actually had to pay for this thing. Jeez.

It's not so much that "we didn't get what we wanted with this free update!" as it is that we haven't heard diddly-squat from Bioware about some of the most outstanding issues player still have with the game.

Namely, people are most vocal about:

-Better options in the CC

-More unique items. Specifically more unique racial armors.

-An option to change our attire at Skyhold.

The Black Emporium update seemed like *the* opportunity to implement most, or at least some, of these fixes and additions. It was perfect. The Mirror of Transformation was the perfect chance to add new CC options, the Black Emporium shops is the perfect opportunity to give player new unique items, and it's the perfect chance to give players an alternative option to the Skyhold pajamas.

And we got none of that.

Again, It's not that people are complaining about the content of a free update. And it's a cool free update.

But Bioware took a LONG time to get this update out. They never directly addressed our feedback or concerns, leaving us to naturally think the BE would have some of the small fixes we'd been hoping for.

So while I'm sure some will take the complaining a *bit* far, the disappointment is more than warranted.

Free DLC:

You get what you pay for.

Of course, with regard to the main game, I think I *didn't* get what I paid for.

@Dubya75

well... not exactly true about the loosing job thing, especially if the gain is way way below the effort required to add the feature (what feature exactly, i kind of lost track of this thread). if implementing feature is a non-trivial task, job is to compromise, give options and advise.

besides... there is a middleman, you're not exactly dev's customer.

tbh i think BW cares very much about fanbase, so much they slap workarounds on workarounds, breaking the game with each patch to give us some of those features we whine about. but that's just it, those workarounds are not core changes, they are just high-level changes that feel awkward (free look, walk toggle, ...). blame design, frostbite, MP, bloated marketing costs (instead of development) or whatever you wish, this game won't be much more kb&m friendly even after dozens of patches.

i really do hope they do some adjustments to the engine based on feedback & patches released... you know, for future games.

Oh....well, thanks first of all for clarifying to me how my job works. I have been here 8 years, but you told me how things are done without having any knowledge whatsoever of who it is I work for or what it is that i do exactly. Your perception is extraordinary!

Secondly, I may not be a direct customer to the devs, but I am ultimately the one buying (or not buying) their product. If I am not happy with the product,  well guess what...

Making excuses for Bioware's lack of competency in patching their own game without introducing more bugs than they fix is laughable.

They are in this position because of concious (and some very questionable) design choices they made during the development cycle of this game. One of which was to ignore fan feedback or looking closely at what succeeded and did not succeed from previous DA titles in order to build a successful game.

To put it very bluntly, I don't care about how difficult the task may be for them. All I care about is the end product. I am not happy with this end product (like many others) and Bioware did not take the opportunity to at least give us some of the things we feel is lacking in this game.

This was an expensive game to buy, so why should we settle for less than what we expect from a Bioware game?

We will continue this conversation when the evidence of this entire situation reveals itself in the form of the franchise's future. Then we will see who was right and who was wrong.

Yeah, it's best to stop hoping for things that aren't sub-par from Bioware from now on because apparently having hope and reasonable expectations is the equivalent of "acting entitled" now, according to some users.

Expecting Bioware to do something just because you stamp your foot and scream loudly about it is not a reasonable expectation.

This is a typical non-post. Of course they can bloody-well do whatever they want. No one is disputing that. People voice what they want, and what they think Bioware should allocate its resources into doing. That's good, and when they listen to feedback, that's great. Are you seriously asking people not to be disappointed when their feedback is ignored?

A, "no" is not the same as being ignored. (And the thing you want not being in BE is effectively an answer of "No".)

B, it's taking all my self-control not to post a picture of Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction right now.

Oooh looky!  My 'entitled' ass never forgot this statement, like so many others obviously have.

Nowhere does that post say that the things they wanted to get in and couldn't are identical to the things you wanted.

One thing you have to understand about Bioware (perhaps more specifically, Mike Laidlaw): They absolutely thrive on having this kind of control over gamers. They love how we beg them to allow us to wear armor at Skyhold, how we beg them for race-specific armor and access to a large number or armors already in the game. They love NOT giving us these things, because it makes them feel like they are in control. Makes them feel like they are in charge. They are  the BIOWARE kings of lala land!

Meanwhile, back on planet earth, we see right through their lack of understanding of what fans want from an RPG game. Never before has there been such a huge disconnect between Bioware and their fans and that is an alarming reality that is definitely not going to advance them as a credible RPG company.

This is one of the most absurd, petulant, narcissistic, martyr-complex-masturbation piles of nonsense I have ever read on the Internet.

They were doing exactly that, at great length, in numerous threads, for months on end. It was like Bart Simpson asking the mail lady every day for months, "Where's my spy camera?" If anyone posted any comment from developers suggesting it wasn't as simple to implement as the posters wanted to believe, it was dismissed out of hand. And every bit of it came with "If Bioware doesn't do this, they're jerks!"

My question is whether or not the War Table information for the BE still spoils the plot of the game. Can anyone confirm for me that it does/doesn't?

Has anyone been able to use the Mirror of Transformation on PC? For me whenever I try to click on it, it loads a black screen then the game freezes.

It be nice if someone knew the answer to that.

That's definitely Nick Boulton doing Xenon's voice! His voice just isn't as processed as it was in DA2. And I think he's doing a more prominent accent. Trust me, though, I've got an ear for these things!

Wouldn't surprise me. Same things happened with Cory; same voice actor, drastically different voice
