What the hell is a SJW?

 

It means something different to different people

 

Some people use it to condemn anyone with teh gayz or anyone who supports gay content. Some people use it to describe the anyone who makes them feel like they're being morally judged. An outspoken part of the tumblr community describes themselves with it to say that they prioritize liberal beliefs, and sometimes shame people who don't fit their standards. Trolls love to pretend to be part of this crowd and really go crazy with the so called "social justice" schtick, twisting it and using troll logic to help encourage their generally bad reputation

Well, I'm a feminist, an atheist, a supporter of LGBT rights, disability rights and an end to racism and entrenched economic inequality and a social democrat, and I've been playing BioWare games since Baldur's Gate. I've been on the Dragon Age forums since before the first game launched (although I didn't follow its development for as long as some people) and I bought it on release day. So ... I guess if any of that means 'social justice warrior' to you, then ... we've been here all along! THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!!!

 

As far as I'm concerned, at this point the term is meaningless. Some people use it to refer only to those who bully and doxx people in the name of social justice, but others use it to refer to all progressives.

My problem with the Anti-SJWs is that they tend to complain about any game that doesn't pander to them.

DAI has been attacked by these types for not having sexy enough women, black women who aren't wearing hair extensions, lesbians who won't turn straight for the male PC, etc.

Yes this game does have quite a few cringeworthy "after school special" scenes (Dorian, Krem...) that I could have lived without but it doesn't mean I was attacked as a white man.
