Zither could very well be the new AW... However, he plays for the party and I'm sure no one will be complaining about barrier and healing songs.

This and you don't get more EP than your DD - unlike with the AW.

Zither seems insanely overpowered, you can pretty play every single role by yourself

Not really, he’s very squishy without barriers and he’s one of those characters that really only shines when given a specific role rather than trying to cover all the bases. He can be a good damage dealer but he’s more suited to support. Not to mention as others have been saying it depends on team set ups, sometimes he can be a dream to play with certain groups, other times an absolute nightmare.

I had no problem last night, I think I got downed 1 time in all my games last night and it was because instead of backing around a corner he decided to walk into a charging enemy and get downed. The biggest problem people may have is that a lot of classes have become too easy; think of an archer just using longshot all game. You have to pay attention and switch songs all the time in the middle of fighting. Some people are just going to use him for a single role, but the better players will be able to twist tons of songs through the course of a fight, depending on what is needed.

It's just me or his autoattack deals less damage?
It deals crappy damage, but you can run-cancel them and attack insanely fast.

Omg zither sounds awesome. Finally a support class that actually supports! Instead of just doing less damage.
Can't wait to play him!
His damage isn't bad either. I don't much care for the fire attack, but the lightning aoe is pretty awesome. Throw in the free song after killing an enemy and you can run into a crowd, spam lightning aoe and they all get wrecked.

I am playing as almost exclusively a 'crowd pleaser' with a top notch staff.
I'm assuming the songs stack (?)
Because I can just about cycle 'Heal on Kill', 'Armour protection' and 'hasted attack in 8 seconds, probably...

Any of the buff songs last 8 seconds, I would advise making that up to 12 seconds with the passive as soon as possible.
You need to look at it situationally as well. Spam a beefed up barrier before a fight, then toss in attack speed or damage resist. Once the team starts taking damage give them the heal on hit/kill. When your buffs are up you can either keep the barriers up or spam some attacks, I enjoy the lightning aoe. I saved countless lives by using barrier song right as a teammate was going to die. Then hit them with heal on hit and they are good. If a demon commander is popping up soon, use the speed boost to help get people out of the way.
The key to a good bard is to always be aware and keep changing songs accordingly. The fact he can use so many different skills just means you are totally wasting the high end potential by not trying to mix it up. Use 4, 5, 6 songs in every fight, that's how it was designed.

This mechanic is amazing, and it will highly reward skilled players. I can definitely see a player with polished bard skills being the most useful member to every party. Priority will probably be Barrier and Heal on hit/kill (if you are a support bard...or...period), and then cycle appropriate songs in between. Also, a bard with the Pyre is a despair demon dominator.

This is it exactly. I have yet to play the other 2 new classes but ZITHER! specifically will show how skilled someone is at the class. It doesn't look like there will ever be a set routine for how to play him, if you just spam the same 2 songs over and over you aren't getting as much out of the character as you can. The faster you can play songs, the more aware of the surroundings and your team you are, the more success you will have.

Barrier consumes the most mana. I don't know how it is on higher promotions or high end staves, but even with the manareg passives my ZITHER! goes oom very fast with barrier spam. I rather focus on keeping up 5 buffs simultaniously and only switch on barrier when things get nasty. The songs don't need a specific sequence of the cords so you can switch between songs very rapidly and build yourself a working rotation.
Speed buff and barrier are 3x one cord, so at least they are fast included in your rotation by spamming the specfic cord.

I like to start out giving full barrier before we attack, and I will use it depending on the situation. Teammate with low hp, barrier. RTC is about to spin or DC is about to pop up, barrier.
The whole songs not in sequence thing is nice but was messing with me last night. I need to get used to easy switches between songs which will come in time.

Yes. The three cords are in the skill discription. You can line them up in every order. Attack speed buff is shown as: X,B,B on XBox, but you can also play it with B,X,B or B,B,X. This let's you switch very rapidly between songs. During the game you have to remember the cords, but little suggestions in the UI show you which song you can line up with the given cords.
It takes some time until you have a working rotation, especially when barrier or movement speed need to be shoved in between.

I've found that occasionally glancing at the radar helps with hitting all party members with songs during combat.
