And people said DAI was all hack and slash  :P

Zither is a ton of tactical play wrapped up in a cool rock star  :)

Zither for DA4 please alongside Lace Harding  ^_^

How I see it.... Zither is not OP, but, he makes everyone in your party OP.

But not OP in a bad way, everyone still needs to be in his circle to get the sweet, sweet buffs.

He compliments every player, his attacks are decent for supporting fire while at the same time keeping your barrier topped up, increasing your attack speed and healing you.

He doesn't make the barrier classes obsolete, because he's at his best when he just needs to top them up and spend the rest of the time buffing.

He encourages people to stick together and also makes travel from A to B a lot faster.

I think he might be the best thing to happen to DAMP in a long time.

He makes coordinated teams unstoppable. He makes crappy teams decent. He kills things with sheer awesomeness. He is ZITHER!

I think Zither is a good thing.

Not so much due to the playstyle, which I admit I like, more for the new ability combinations he opens up for.

I mean, the guy has a Heal on Hit AND Heal on Kill buff. Thats just mad in and of itself.

no heal on kill upgrade is broken. do not use. heal on hit itself is mandatory, though.

I absolutely adore Zither, he's such a fresh take on how to play, I love that he isn't basically locked to just 4 abilities. His design and dialogue is also so on point, he's amazing

Zither! is amazing.
No need to be nerfed.
He is unique.
I want his abilities in single player too.

So do i! :D

He has creation spells that we have wanted to see so badly in inquisition.

If i had these spells in SP, my Inquisitor would rock Thedas!!!!!

As I was saying on another thread, he has became my favorite character now.

His playstyle is so different.

A couple things that make him very different from other mages and character

- His skills have no cooldown. If you got the mana, you can literally spam them

- He can move while autofiring(before only archers could do this)

- He can use all skills that you unlock, even if they are not assigned to a button

- He has a unique gameplay style with having to "play" a song to use a skill.

- He has group healing skills(not directly though)

It was so refreshing.

I landed in a lobby with a level 3 duelist who was obviously new and had chosen the new Feralden castle map....

Zithers fingers were probably bleeding by the end of zone 5.... It was hard work keeping her up, heal on hit, barrier, attack increase etc while at the same time having to support fire.

By the end I had done most of the killing and revived her twice due to her wanting to stand in the dragon fire.

I don't have Zither unlocked but I love having one on the team. Haven't partied with one on perilous yet, but he was buffing like crazy on Threat..felt like a cakewalk. Thanks to all the Zither out there!

Just started playing Zither tonight and I can thus finally comment on this thread from the other day... Zither.Is.Amazeballs.

Probably my new fav. character (disclaimer: haven't played other 2 new characters yet).

I am just loving how he can do a bit of everything well or one particular thing fantastically.  And I agree that he is NOT OP.

It takes precious seconds to mix up the chord schemes and he is limited by mana regen, which even with the passives still takes time and makes it difficult to cast multiple spells once the mana reaches the lowest threshold (25 mana) and you have to keep waiting for it to get back to that bare minimum before recasting and you cannot afford to wait for it to climb higher b/c there are so many enemies.  It's a really neat dynamic, imho.

Can't wait to see his upgraded armour.

Ah, so that's why my teammate was still dying despite me having the upgrade and him killing entire groups of mobs with his Avarr  :(

Is any of Zither's other powers or passives bugged?

I do like the gentle stab that rock stars only know 3 chords.

I hope the next new map has better acoustics so you don't need to be so close to ZITHER! to hear his songs.

+1 for Zither love.

For myself, Crowd Pleaser tree.

Main abilities I spam:

Movement Speed (elec, elec, elec)

Attack Speed (fire, elec, elec)

Armour [sp?] (fire, cold, cold)

Healing (cold, cold, elec)

I cycle through these constantly.  As noted, Zither's magic attack is kinda weak (ahem, could use a slight buff BW), so I make up for it with Attack Speed.

His attack seems like it's just there to get mana back for spells, when you run cancel it you shoot fast as heck. Power Chord is the big damage dealer, with the damage on kill increase and free song on enemy death you can wipe out entire crowds instantly.

Do we know what song he is playing?

I understood it was one of the Tavern songs?

If I could identify it, I could phrase it properly walking between zones

Wouldn't it be awesome if he played the entire song in order it would unlock a super Zither that one shots the entire dungeon... Like Konami code.

It's a lot of fun, after using it there is no way I could let myself be just a support bard.

Damn, here is where I really appreciate the respec crafting.  After reviewing my Duelist build yesterday, decided to respec, and rather enjoying the new build.  Will look at my Zither build tonight and see about respeccing him too.  I love the support aspect (I play support roles often), but the lack-attack kinda sucks (same as I feel about Keeper).

Mix them, I use barrier/haste/heal on hit/speed/fire attack/power chord

Gear+promotions+passives puts me at at least 70% attack bonus, so keep that in mind if you use power chord and it doen't wipe the map out instantly
