Steam.Really, what is this "main PC gaming service" that you speak of? Considering I am a PC gamer, gosh you think I should be a part of this "main PC gaming service" ?
... and if you happen to be ***ing about my English, suit yourself.

Had nothing to do with your English, it has to do with I really had no idea what you consider to be the "main PC gaming service"... Steam, huh? Yeah, I don't even remember the last time I opened up Steam for the two game I actually own through them... and I had friends on my list before I actually bought those games.
So, if you are correct that they have changed their policy, that's more reason for me to laugh at those that think Steam is the best thing since sliced bread.
Funny other companies manage to release dlc to everyone at the same time, so sorry that excuse is a huge pile of BS … Given how they have continually crapped on PS4 users I have now cancelled my pre-order of ME4 and I won't bothering with Jaws of Hakkon till after I have finished with Witcher and a few other new games that don't go in for all this exclusivity BS. They stated Black Emporium was going to be released to EVERYONE at the same time on May 5th to then make a portion of your fans wait another day after that is absolute CRAP.
Ladies and gentlemen? I think we have a definition for overreacting! ![]()

And it wasn't before? I downloaded it launch day. Sure I didn't pay anything for it.
Or maybe Microsoft is being typical Microsoft, there is that too. I know they've done that before in the past... even when PC and PS3 got stuff for free, Microsoft put new free DLC behind Xbox Live Gold only. So, maybe they tried it with this and it took EA a bit to shut them down? Not saying EA is blameless, as a PC user I am just an observer, but I am a past console user at the same time and so I've seen Microsoft do this in the past with other games that weren't backed by a company like EA with the financial pull to tell Microsoft to go stuff themselves.

There's a lot of bullshit speculated about Microsoft. So many people jump to conclusions like this.
The bottom line is that the Default position for doing anything on the Xbox is, as it has always been, to be a Live Subscriber. There are relatively few Xbox owners who aren't subscribers now, given that if you wanted to play online as 360 owner you couldn't without it. It's that steady income which has allowed Microsoft to create a stable and reliable online service. Something no other console has to the same degree.
People only really realise that there are such things a paywalls and the like, on the occasions that somebody still determinedly holding on to a Silver account jumps up and says 'Oi! I can't do this!' To which the rest of the community turns around and says 'What? You can't? Oh. Well, they probably aught to change that...' before turning back and returning to what they were doing. Because ultimately it doesn't effect them. They're not likely to kick up much of a fuss.
You really won't get much out of owning an Xbox without subscribing. But then it's much the same with PS4 now. Just with an online service which goes down regularly, and can write off entire days of play.
There is no conspiracy with release dates/times on Live and PSN, though. Both companies have different days and times when they update their storefronts for different regions. That's what dictates when DLC turns up. Not shady clandestine deals. No matter how much you might want that to be the reason, the reality simply isn't that exciting. ![]()

I'm sorry, I must be mistaken that I was an Xbox Live subscriber for years and saw them make 'free' DLC still Xbox Gold only when PSN and the PC did not have any equivalent requirements. Honestly, I must have been mistaken. I must NOT have seen things put up yes on a Wednesday but not been able to get it for two weeks because I wasn't Gold at the time... yet my PSN and PC friends got to download it.
Also, I can't say about XboxOne, but I can say that at least on the Xbox360 they have lessened the Gold restrictions. You can now play online with Silver, then they use free games and such to entice you to be Gold.
If a "free DLC" exists, but only Xbox Live Gold subscribers can have it but PSN and PC don't have to subscribe to any services to get it, then I believe that is a problem, yes. Was that the case here? I don't know, from all that I've heard of the graphical issues with the 360 and PS3 versions of DAI, I'm very glad I got the PC version.
