Bolt was nerfed. The spam "glitch" from beta was "fixed".

Duelist is now a trash-tier character.

Yup.

With Bioware ignoring our requests to rebalance the Avvar, Virtuoso is now the only viable character.

1. Make teammate commit seppku (preferably a templar, keeper, or zither, with the perk that fully heals and bonus damage)

2. Use swashbuckle (?) ability and do 7000% weapon damage.

3. ???

4. Profit

You know, pre-nerf, the duelist had great survivability and didn't had to rely on swashbuckle to output absurd amounts of damage. I guess you can't run a duelist without a virtuoso / keeper / ele now.

He's made of 1-ply tissue paper.

No, im not a PC player.  Didnt know at all.

Still, its been a couple hours of the new Isabella.  Im sure better play styles and strategy involving her will evolve over time.

It's the only warrior without Flow of Battle.  Guard generation is pathetic, and even with guard, you lose it all in a couple of hits with no way to get it back up quickly enough before you get ripped apart.  Another warrior that needs a babysitter.  Very disappointing.

But I'm sure they all work great on routine :D The gametype that everyone exclusively plays.

Anyone saying the Avvar is weak hasn't played him enough! He just plays differently than the other warriors. He has two good abilities for generating guard, and an ability that functions like a mobile static cage. Most of his abilities have decently fast cooldowns as well. He's nowhere near the tank the legionaire is but he's on par with the Katari tank-wise if you spec and play him right.

I will say the Avvar has one distinct drawback. His toughness and survivability functions in direct relation to the number of enemies he's fighting. He thrives taking on tight clusters of enemies, pumping out guard and damage in a nice steady stream as long as he has enemies to stomp on. When he has to face lots of stragglers and spread out archers/wraiths is when he starts to seem paper thin. His damage potential and survivability grow the more enemies are in close proximity to him.

"Trash Tier" like Alchemist, Hunter or Katari, or should we be concerned?

I don't think there is any real concerns, majority of us can't compare to Beta so we don't know what we are missing out on..  I am just happy there is some new characters, a map and dragons.. :)

Yeah?  Do you play him on perilous without a babysitter?  Would like to see you in action without a barrier mage holding your hand.  I'm not saying you can't do it, but I'd like to see you do it.  I'm sure some guy with massive stats is going to come on here and prove me wrong sooner or later, but I wouldn't compare Avvar's guard generation to the current Katari's.

The game is team-based after all, so who gives a damn about the ability to solo perilous?

That's why I like ZITHER so much, because he relies on teamwork and only shines with a coordinated team. One-man shows are boring.

Ironically enough, I think ZITHER! would disagree with that last statement...

The word "solo" didn't appear once in the post you quoted, so I don't see why you've brought it up.
