Whoever wrote that quiz should go back to school, because for the love of it I can't understand what some of those questions are supposed to ask me and I dare assume my English is just fine, thank you.

Even worse are the questions that are just slight variations of another question, making the quiz longer than it should be.

That's not the problem, slight diversity can help to pinpoint tendencies. The real problem are questions like "do you change species often?" ... who do you suppose can answer that question with an affirmative? What sort of question is that supposed to be other than "hey, I want maximum starseed affinity points, so I'll lie".

 

Questions about aura and energy ... well, how about you describe what the difference between those two is supposed to be?

Presumably it's for people that understand what aura and energy are.

 

Of course, that also means that they are morons since "auras" are a worthless "pseudo-science" (since aura "specialists" rarely say the same thing about one person without prior collaboration).

Since I haven't taken the survey, and have no intention of doing it, I'm going to assume that they're assigning percentages per category instead of just giving a sum of all of the scores. The system still works, but it's results are pretty much meaningless (shocking I know).

 

I'll take back what I said about the maker knowing how to write surveys correctly.

It's not a composite score - you are not 90% human or 30% angel, but rather answered positively for 90% of the questions pertaining to human, while 30% of the questions regarding angel.

If they asked you six questions, two of which were intended to see if you were angel vs. human, two for robot vs. human and two for dragon vs. human and you answered human to one of each and to the otherkin as one of each, you would have answered as human on half of the questions, but you would have answered half of the angel questions as angel (50%), half of the robot questions as robot (50%) and half of the dragon questions as dragon (50%).

This doesn't mean you are 200% of a person, just that it makes no sense to present the result as a composite.

If I gave you a 100 question survey that started off asking if you were gay, then proceeded to have 99 questions about your skills at geometry, you wouldn't say the respondent's results only reflect 1% gay.

The survey is not wrriten well, no. But given that there are obvious, clear sections where the survey other is talking about one type of Otherkin over another and not a representation of all possible Otherkin results as a whole in each question, it makes rough sense to author it this way.


Still, it takes itself far too seriously to be much fun but also not nearly serious enough to give any real actionae result.
