is this supposed to be some kind of joke?
most people who played ME won't believe their eyes when they read this
Played ME3MP since the demo and... Yup... Eyes still retain credulity.
These games are designed by the same studio, but different teams within the same studio with some cross-over. They are created around two very distinct design philosophies, in two very different genres and in completely different engines. DAMP definitely uses some basic elements of ME3MP as its core, but otherwise is unique: similar UI, alternating "waves" with incremented "objective" waves, focus on player survivability vs. spam healing, very distinct character models, RNG store, weapon upgrades, etc.
However, DAMP is meant to be team-based and to attempt to drive team composition using the Dragon Age 3 main classes. DAMP seems to have been designed with a focus on ability and equipment customization and party comp experimentation and not on a depth of dungeon exploration, at least not yet. I understand your feelings of being underwhelmed, and do feel that longer, more chose-your-own-adventure style maps would be cool. I do think that that is what the class-specific doors/ treasure rooms were an attempt to emulate, but they can and should go further with it. I wouldn't even mind if they contained some type of story components with variability.
However, to keep the same type of plug and play repetition and time frames as other MP games, they chose to go a different route for now. Judging by what I have seen with the new DLC the team has the capability to change this game in unexpected ways, both from a design and a game play standpoint. I hope this continues to evolve and more rapidly. Cheers.
