Is anyone else experiencing awful frame rates on the new maps? It took us around 40-50 minutes to clear the dragon fight on perilous because of how laggy it was.

 

Playing on the Xbox One so not sure if this is a problem for every platform?

Is Zither in your party? I was wondering if his song animations were creating too much awesome for the game to keep up.

He is yes, the lag starts on 3/5 then slowly gets worse, it was near unplayable earlier.

first things first, do a hard reset of your Xbox if you haven't done so already.  At least make sure to quit any programs running in the background.  I havent had the chance to play yet, but that is a good place to start.

I think it might be him... Have you tested a Zither free party?

Yeah I tried it mate, as did everyone else in the party but everyone experienced the same problem.

I noticed the problem become considerably worse when going from threatening to perilous also. I'll try it but Zither is just too good not to have in a party for dragon fights

I'll see what I can do, my friends stopped playing because it got so bad I need 3 more for a group if anyone's interested in testing it.

Don't have the DLC for the new map yet, but does the Dragon call dragonlings?

I was experiencing an absurd amount of lag on PS4 yesterday.

 

EDIT: Yesterday evening, UK time (GMT, between 21:30 and 23:00 aprox)

We reported this issue on the beta several times. Bioware ignoring us, again.

 

It happens when you bring 2+ virtuoso on the map.

Must be a Zither issue in general because we only had one, we did have other classes dropping barrier though so maybe that factors into it?

I'm not sure. We had no issues with only 1 zither, so maybe if you have a keeper around too, that may also trigger the lagfest.

How did you get this for PS4 already?

 

You should be able to access the characters as of like 8 hours ago... The map is not available though. 

Go into the shop and open the DragonSlayer chest to unlock your first free character.

 

I'm not sure. We had no issues with only 1 zither, so maybe if you have a keeper around too, that may also trigger the lagfest.

 

I was with a Keeper when this happened.... Also might have been happening with an Elementalist with barrier too.

Yeah, it has something to do with ZITHER!
During 5/5 my framerate went to hell while standing near ZITHER!.

It is an Easter Egg from Bioware. If you play Cold Cold Elec Elec Fire Fire it slows down time like in the Matrix.

The Virtuoso will be playing the "Supreme Tune" and in the zone

 

But yes, I also am seeing lag when I'm playing with Virtuoso (on PS4). It happens to me towards the later room like 3/5 onward, and is a complete mess in 5/5 sometimes. I haven't had any problems with Avvar or Duelist, so I do want to say the lag is coming from too many effects going on from the Zither. Not conclusive but highly likely here.

Yeah, I've done a couple of Fereldan run throughs and noticed no problems with my framerate.  One party had two Zithers, a Duelist and an Avvar...and my PC's graphic card is not all that and a bagga' chips.

Try running with 3 virtuoso's on that map lol you aint seen nun yet

Especially on Hazard Ghost. Getting through an entire match was a minor miracle.
