KE nerfed in Patch 7?

Balance changed on Arcane Warriors. “Spirit Blade” now costs more and does less damage to Barriers and Guard in multiplayer. “Spirit Blade” no longer applies a damage bonus in both play modes.

 

But which damage bonus? All? Rune? Vulnerability? Passives? Status?

There was a 100% damage bonus upgrade that was added by mistake. The patch removes this.

Thanks - from his quote "Also, the upgrade was secretly adding a bonus 100% damage which I removed as it was unintended" - I guess the extra unintended damage bonus was coming from the Defending Blade upgrade (meant to deflect projectiles) rather than the base ability itself.

 

But it seems like the base Spirit Blade ability is unchanged at 300% weapon damage / 200% bonus against Barrier / 400% bonus against Guard in single-player, while in multi-player it's now 100% bonus against Barrier / 100% bonus against Guard.

Yeah, I took before and after videos of my battle with the Abyssal High Dragon. Average damage before was like 1200, after was like 900. Since I was expecting a 50% whack, I was relieved.

Is Spirit Blade still fairly spammable? I heard it got changed from 10 to 20 mana and I remember my mana regeneration only barely kept up when it was 10.

That change should have only been for MP.

Spamming SB isn't even the way to go for a KE anyway IMO. It's the constant barrier generation + Fade Cloak that makes the class so OP.

True. I used to use it for guard and barriers though. And just because I liked being close to enemies. What do people generally put in place of SB?

Don't get me wrong - I don't swap out SB, since it's a close range AOE and, like you said, is a killer against guard and barrier (which actually counts for something on nightmare). 

 

I just meant I wouldn't spam it.

Oh I see. Yeah I could probably drop mind blast for something that actually does damage and use SB less.

I hadn't thought of this, I really need to invest in Inferno on my next playthrough.

KE with inferno+lightning is the knowledge that leads to victory.

 

KE/winter is the path that leads astray... except for 1 or 2 level dip for Fade Step.
