so Bioware can transfer over isabella anders outfit and fenris clothes on random npc's but you can't give us new hair an armor....lol this game is so doomed

The writing was IMO better in DA2, the voice sounds different, no golem (there is smallbear), no (new) objects to investigate, Hawke already looted all the free items.

On the plus side it is Black Emporium and it looks better than ever. I guess we got what we paid for and more.

Indeed so it only makes sense from a lore perspective that it's shittier now.

 

Also, it's free so I can't complain. I'm just glad for the mirror to make tweaks to my character.

That is what you will get for free from EA. Be thankful that the BE is not behind a massive pay-wall. It probably will never happen again.

I was disappointed cuz it was in beta for what felt like a really long time. But maybe that was standard? But I'm not gonna complain since it is free, also not gonna get guilt tripped for being disappointed though. Hoping for more and demanding more aren't the same thing.

So.... By your logic. You would would be disappointed by the cake you got at work for your birthday because you had to wait to eat it after work when you wanted to eat it on your break. Free is free. Having to wait for something should not take away from your appreciation of that fact.

Is the Black Emporium available in Haven, or do you need to get to Skyhold to get it?

Good question. I am 1/2 finished with my playthru, so I was already at skyhold. No way will you have enough $$ to shop yet anyway. Some Schematics are expensive.

 

Added.. I love the BE, but was hoping for some new hair styles...

The Black Emporium was previously beta tested by a select few fans invited to participate in earlier patches by Bioware, and it has only just dropped for the rest of us. There is at least a chance that the Bioware devs will add other things to Xenon's wares at some point, based upon additional feedback. 

 

Maybe we should all point out specific things that we like and do not like in a more effective manner?

 

For me The Mirror of Transfiguration was much appreciated, just for the ability to tweak aspects of my Inquisitors faces that looked different than what I had intended from their original creation screen. Having the supply of crafting materials is another huge plus. As for the schematics, Dalish Warrior Armor is a big win; as that item never drops for most of us in the main game! I loved being able to acquire the Helm of the Inquisitor schematic at the onset of a new game. Fantastic win for that item alone. 

 

I did not feel as if the new weapons were unique enough in appearance to justify their high cost? I could see the legendary stuff being pricier, but not everything made available should break the bank. The Golem (Thaddeus] being missing bugged me, but the Urchin gone was no surprise. 

 

Based upon a dialogue snippet overhead inside the BE, I WANT to see that monster under the floor too, or at least be provided some indication of the beasts presence (growls, rumbles, thumps, etc.)??? Please.

Would I have liked more codex entries and interactable points of interest? Yes. Would I have been over the moon about more hair options? Without a doubt! Am I disappointed that free DLC doesn't include those things? No. It delivers the Mirror of Transformation as promised, and gives us the ability to purchase the schematics the RNG gods deny. Plus, it's kinda nice not to have to trudge through the entire Emprise du Lion looking for random Red Templars just because I'm 2 Dales Loden Wool short of a new set of armor. I'm happy.

No but I might be disappointed that it's vanilla and I let everybody know beforehand that I really, really, really like chocolate. I'd still appreciate and enjoy the vanilla cake though. You can't really invalidate a feeling, it's not always justified maybe but you can't tell me that I'm allowed to feel a certain way.

Considering how long we had to wait for this after it was announced for beta testing, and the bugs present (choosing companions when you only go there alone?), it was drastically underwhelming. Yes, it did deliver on the mirror of transformation, which is great. And it's also nice to be able to buy crafting materials and schematics (would've been nicer if we could also purchase the inquisition banner crown and the bugged archdemon mosaic piece that can't be fixed retroactively with the patch). The wait and the lack of content is what makes this so disappointing, but hopefully they'll be able to add some extras to it in future updates.

Is it justified to dislike something that's free?  Sure it is.  It could be detrimental.  Viruses are free, for instance.  Having said that, I'm glad to have the BE, limited though it may be.  But I wouldn't bash anyone who isn't.

Does anyone else kinda wish that the Kirkwall Legacy throne wasn't so huge?

 

It's nearly as tall as the front doors, but the seat is ridiculously small, plus it covers so much of the windows and is practically pressing against the torches behind the throne? If it was scaled down a little more and the seat was made larger, it'd be an epic looking throne I'd be happy to sit on?

 

Instead, I feel like anyone who goes into Skyhold and sees that throne, will leave thinking that my Inquisitor is majorly compensating for something?

It's great size is the main thing that it has going for it. I feel that if you wanted to impose a certain type of impression on those you are judging, for instance that their goose just might be cooked and that they had better walk on eggshells in their statements to you, then the Kirkwall Legacy throne is the one that you would want to be sitting astride?

The BE seems the exact same to me as it was in DA2, only this time I actually purchased something (dagger for Cole). BE in DA2 was only good for the Mirror, and there were more codexes. What were you expecting?

Usually, free items are crap, so I kind of expected the BE to be crap... Wasn't disappointed.
