One word: Hinterlands.

I liked the Hinterlands :( Atleast it's not rainning 24/7. *cough cough* STORMCOAST

- Shards. They almost always make you waste time backtracking and / or figuring out how to jump up one foot up a hill since the inquisitor likes to slide down gravelly areas as though there is no traction.

- Companion quests with no dialogue. Dorian didn't acknowledge killing his quest venatori. Cassandra only sometimes had something to say about these nemesis characters that have no storyline. Same with Varric...and Vivienne. Probably all of them.... What a tease. Companions deserve more than this.

- Dragon researcher quest line in Approach - lots of backtracking.

- Rest of the side quests that are not memorable at all.

Everything in the Exalted Plains. For some reason, this map makes me feel nauseous when playing it for too long. Odd because I don't have any problems like that with other games.

Same, i can barely stand that place. Exalted Plains and Storm Coast have to be the worst maps in dai. Hated doing anything in these places.

Hinterlands were amazing the first time i played the game, now i get so bored i just go to the main mission, but sadly i have to get some levels and powers in order to move on.

I dislike all timed quests.  I actually like collecting shards now that I've gotten better at getting the shard in the Hinterlands, near the dragon.  :P

It's the environmental audio. I have the same reaction -- lots of people seem to love the EP because of all the interesting things you can do and people you can kill, but I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

The lighting is weird too. So bright, and yet, so many undead. Messes with your mind.

Most Disappointing: Doom Upon All the World, hands down. Skyhold was the perfect setup for a climactic battle, so where does it happen? Next door.

Most Infuriating, RP-wise: Here Lies the Abyss, Western Approach and Adamant parts. The Order taken in by a Vint d-bag? No way.

Most Infuriating, gameplay-wise: Prologue. Spend 30+ minutes in the character creator, and then crash on the first cutscene -- with no autosave.

I hate any quest that gives me a marker that is not clear, actually I hate the map for not allowing me to take short cuts to an area which I can clearly walk on but end up having to go another 5 miles around that bit to get to the damn marker because I somehow slip and slide on a jagged rock with groves in it!  I want a road map. I keep saying. "I could have finished this fetch quest five minutes ago if it wasnt for that damn slippery rock."

I also disliked exalted plains, as somebody else said the bright light + zombies messes with me too, it's weird.

Shoot, I hate Orlesians, but I find it kinda adds to my enjoyment of that quest. Only thing I wish was that we could mess with some of those frilly NPC's and take part in their petty shenanigans, or outright rob them if you're a rogue.

Easy: the fetch quests  which are sadly the 80% of the game.

All war table quests.

At first I didn't mind them, being they are mostly optional. Reading the missives were new and even entertaining. Now I think they are evil. lol They just pull me totally out of the game as I play again and have to remember the best route thru a war table quest.

The Shards, very single fetch-quest, the Exalted Plains and the freaking Winter Palace (granted, I got through it a lot faster the second time around). The War Table can also be cumbersome (more-so on the second playthrough).

Of course... nothing will ever top my dislike of the Fade in DAO. The first time I played that it was like getting lost in IKEA and believing I would never find my way out.

Where the druffalo roam

I don't know why.
I don't know when.
But that quest makes me want to throw things. It's just... I mean... Seriously?
And any personal quest of viviennes. But that has little to do with the quest and everything to do with the fact that I cannot. Stand. Her.

If you're considering all of dragon age, hands down the fade and sloth demon encounter. 30 hours of my life I'm never getting back because I refused to cheat my first time through. My hair is literally asking me to tear it out just thinking about it

The shards. Out of all unnecessary fetch/side quests, the collection of the shards is the dumbest and most boring thing in the game.

I do wonder, though, if skyhold will appear later. I doubt this escaped the attention of the developers, and the advisors and companions often mention that the inquisition will not necessarily die with Coryphe-fits. If they weren't concerned with the consequences of a semi destroyed or damaged skyhold in a siege for post campaign play, maybe it will appear in DLC or DA4. A thought.

"Set fire to the ramparts." If only that could be accomplished by just standing at the side and launching fireballs at them!

The Druffalo, because the pathing was ass and the damned thing got stuck on every rock or blade of grass he encountered.

only one? hm...

i can live with fetch quests... i played WoW. the most annoying thing for me is the narrative chain - when i really want to do something but cut scene starts and i can no longer control my char.

so my least favourite quest and most packed with action cut scenes that steer my PC instead of me is Here Lies the Abyss

Wicked Eyes...

Because it took a really interesting situation - the Orlesian Civil War - and utterly trivialised it by having the Inquisitor single handedly resolve the entire thing in an evening. What a waste of a plot that was apparently important enough for BW to publish a book on it. On real dead tree. The mechanics of it were an interesting change of pace, but the story was awful.

Any and all areas and quests involving dodging an extreme overabundance of rocks, mountains, rocky mountains and mountainous rocks, there is such a thing as overkill

I really hope you're right. A "Skyhold Under Siege" postgame DLC would be so good.

I hate the entire game, but I can agree the Hinterlands was one of the worst segments of any game I've ever played in my entire life. It blows everything else in DA:I out of the water in sheer horribleness.

Why someone who "hates" the entire game would ever have an opportunity to view a forum about the very game - - - which they claim to hate - - - is beyond me?

Do you have nothing else to do, but troll Bioware? I mean you didn't say that you disliked Inquisition, you specifically said that you hated the ENTIRE GAME! Begs the questions, what, why when, how and where did the set of circumstances occur that prompted you to even choose to read a forum about something that you supposedly HATE?

What is the point of that?

No to mention, if he hates it so much, how is he in a position to compare the Hinterlands with other parts of the game. Surely, if you think the game is that bad, you would stop playing long before you got to other parts.

I've played through a fairly large percentage of the game at least 6-7 times, but I've only ever completed it once because I can't bring myself to even start the Winter Palace a second time. I just play up until that (and its subsequent missions, obviously) is about all that's left, then lose interest and start over the next time I fire up the game.

I tend to avoid complaining too much about design decisions since the more entitled younger gamers tend to have that more than covered, but I have to say I really ****** hated that mission.
