@Tinxa: Yeah, writing letters in Thedas seems to be a singularly dangerous occupation, but it isn't as bad as falling in love. There are dead lovers everywhere! In the Emprise du Lion, I usually give Louis his confession just so one couple can hook up without one or both of them winding up dead... and even that relationship has a body count. At this rate, humanity is doomed.

Hmm, well, I confess I never actually gathered the shards--I mean the first three in my first PT--then I was like, "yeeaah...i'm not doing this."
I have never escorted, or went after the golden halla, or the druffalo. I was like, "lol! noooo...i'm not doing that."
Exalted Plains I actually got to after WEWH in my first PT. And it was kinda funny. I had to kill some lame corpses...then talking to whoever it was, I eventually informed him that, "oh, no, the war is actually over........" Mr. Whatshisface says, "it is? oh...."
*awkward silence*
The companion quests were alright, but some felt rather short and uninvolved. I think Varric's quest with Ms. B was good. Cassandra's was pretty good. And i love that castle we were visiting.
I'm really trying to remember the sidequests that weren't super fetchy, or just for some crafting/customization purposes.
Oh! One I did not like was getting the horses. That one guy wants watchtowers. Okay, I can understand that. I go trudge about to mark the spots, then I have to go back! to the war table to do a mission to build them. Then when that's done, I have to go alll the way back to that guy to tell him. I also had a hard time findin the wolf den, or rather getting to it I should say. But I persevered, got the horses....and...never saw anybody riding one. Didn't seem to make any difference for my troops.
Too much back and forth. I enjoyed the major quests overall, and the smaller--that I can remember--ones, too. (I liked that Still Ruins one). But too many times it felt like they were broken up into these bite sized pieces of quests. Always having to go back to Skyhold, or the war table. Really breaks the momentum of the moment for me.
I think I prefer quest designs like the Legacy dlc from DA2, or the major quests from DAO. You start out one place--it may be sightly odd--and then as the quest progresses you're going deeper and deeper into some hideous and challenging situations. When you emerge triumphant, albeit exhausted, it's very satisfying.
Like I said, I enjoyed the major quests, but I feel there were too few quests on that level. It's a large and epic setting, I wish there had been more large and epic quests to go along with it.

Basically all the side quests, pure ****
The Inquisitor reduced to an Errand boy and that wouldn't be so bad if they were at least designed well (with cutscenes, interesting NPC's, good story)
But nope some random NPC's say go find my freaking ring, just because

that woman in the oasis, mining or something, she keeps disappearing only to have to exit map then come back, the marker plays tricks on you

When I saw this thread I knew the Druffalo quest had to be a top contender for least favorite quest, it's just too aggravating not to be. I happily avoid it.
I don't mind the shards most of the time but dang, some of them are way too hoppity hoppity Super Mario Brothers-ish for me, they can be damn annoying. But even so, I think the quest I like even less is the collectible bottles of Thedas. The mini map will start blinking and I'll get a lil excited that there's something hidden to search for ... only to end up finding a damn bottle. Meh.

Ever kill Lord Woosley? Would be funny if the same thing happened with the Halla.
On my first PT, by accident ... How was I to know he wasn't supposed to be farmed for rams leather?
I killed the Golden Halla just to see what the Dalish would do. Wasn't worth it.

Yes!!! There is at least one dead couple in every area. The worst part is that you keep finding all these engagement rings on corpses (or in spiders
)!
I kept thinking one of the game devs went through a bad breakup and littered the levels with dead lovers ![]()

LOVE HAS NO PLACE IN THEDAS!! Or at least any of the parts of Thedas we've been to. Maybe Nevarra? Conversely, cheese has all the places in Thedas. Someone loves dairy.

Forbidden Oasis could have been left out. Collecting the shards wasn't actually that bad, but when I finally got all gazillion of them and went to open the doors, it was maybe THE biggest disappointment of the whole game. Thought I would find some sweet-ass armor or dragon-shattering weapon, but all I got was some casual rags and trinkets worth of a ram's ass. Not good. ![]()

Lol I only started killing him after I knew the truth. I just saved Redcliffe from Tevinter Mages, now I'm sending a DEMON back to live there? Nope. Not happening.

OMG! I had no idea!! All this time I've been sending a demon back to Redcliffe??? Shame there's no other way to discover the possession besides killing him.

I . . . um . . . *headscratch*.
Apart from the story areas, all the quests were basically the same. Go to location. Find and/or fight the things. So it's kind of like giving someone a crate of bananas and asking them to pick their least favorite. THEY ARE ALL BANANAS.
Of the STORY missions, Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts was DEFINITELY my least favorite, although I think Therinfall Redoubt ever so slightly edged it out for most annoying mechanics.

COnsentious Objector I believe the quest was called. I went to this hut expecting a great tail of morality and depth...instead I got rage demon to the face. ![]()

Any of the collection quests, especially the shards, 100+ shards. Really? When Dragon Age went open world, it inherited a few of the perks and all of the flaws of the genre.I don't have a problem with open world games, I love dark souls and skyrim (skyrim more for it's atmosphere as opposed to gameplay) but Dragonage Inquisition feels very padded out. Imagine what it'd be like if we had 10 cleverly hidden shards instead which rewarded the player for exploration instead of having this skull that illuminates everything and put a huge marker screaming "go here! do this!". Bioware games seem afraid of challenging the player, or of including content that some players might miss if they blazed through the game. Instead everything is simple, highly telegraphed and quantity becomes necessary to pad out content or the game will feel too short. it makes it feel like you have to go through the tedium of slogging through x number of steps for a reward, instead of being rewarded for overcoming a tough challenge. I know some people hate bringing up other games but look at Dark Souls where you find a cryptic key or item and the community spends weeks or months trying to figure out what it does. That's what I had hoped DA:I would be like and I've been sorely disappointed.

I'm certainly in the minority, but I don't like killing the dragons. Yeah, the NPCs keep telling me I must, they're dangerous. Yeah, they give good loot. I still can't help but feel bad.
(*Iron Bull Greatly Disapproves*)
Then again, I'm weird enough to consider the Woolsey and Druffalo quests cute, so go figure. XD
If we're going with both a chore and a pointless one at that, however, then the Shards quest wins on both aspects, hands down. ![]()
