What class doesn't wreck with that many free stats?

Alchemist. Hunter. Partly because I have L20 daggers, other part being their abilities innately do bad damage. Hunter because Archer pwns so much more, faster, and better.

Assassin only does high priority targets amongst other high burst classes. The rest eat everything else up

So. . .If I make a thread that complains about pointless things, and people start talking seriously . . .

Does this mean I should start making serious threads?

Seriously though, I can't get over how irritating his voice is. It just doesn't feel right having two characters sound EXACTLY the same. Imagine if All the male party members in Origins sounded like Oghre- wait, that'd be awesome. But still-

Yeah, don't take rage of the avvar people. I took it and ended up just not using it, too much downtime between dealing damage and one arrow takes away half of his guard. Lady's wrath seems more viable, trying that next.

Or better yet, play katari.

I'm sad he looks considerably less bad ass in his T2 armor.

Sad.

Avvar's alt costume has glorious horns > beard.

He's kinda fun (I'm using charge, whirlwind, Electric field and Samson's stomp-jump), but given he's lacking in knockdown, and guard generation, feels weaker than the Katari.

Fine in Threatening, i think Katari for Perilous though.

We 3 manned Perilous as Avvar, Zither and Assassin

Sick

With how much experience do you call him paper tiger? I have yet to unlock that char myself so I can't say but so far from playing with Duelist (albeit a low level one) I'm taking a lot more and bigger hits than with other melee rogue characters.

Once I get to craft some better armor for her I will see if that's actually true, but for Avvar too it might be the lack of proper armor.

I'm up to level 15 with him. As someone who has played the Katari alot (both before and after the buff), the Avaar definitely feels like Pre-buff Katari. His armor rating is 75 I think (I know its lower than the Katari). If you don't have a decent set of gear and try Threatening, you're probably going to have a rough time with him. In no way am I saying you can't beat Threatening with him (maybe even Perilous), but he just lacks the defensive capabilities of the Katari, and the inability to regen health like the Reaver. I don't think he even has any armor passives, just one passive that increases his damage resistance by 25% next to chilled/frozen enemies.

Lore implication: Skywatcher is a mage?

but he just lacks the defensive capabilities of the Katari, and the inability to regen health like the Reaver.

Katari has high hp, guard on hit, mobility, knockdown, and occasional stun / fear. Reaver has heal on hit, fear, and occasional knockdown, alongside some mobility.

Avvar has Elemental, some stagger, but the ability to continually AoE attack (through cover) above and beyond what Reaver and Katari can, and with different elemental damage & effects.

I've recently soloed Perilous with the Avvar vs Venatori Commander on frost map. The lack of innate useful defenses were made up through high promotes and end game gear damage + heal on kill. He can kill multitudes of enemies very very quickly with the right setup, and by using ambush tactics.

Cover remains your best friend.

Lore implication: Skywatcher is a mage?

Yep, BW mentioned that in the twitch stream. Something about because he's an Avvar and because he volunteered to join the inquisition, he's outside of Templar / Chantry control, otherwise they'd consider him a mage.

Really he's the Elemental side of what DAO would consider Arcane Warrior. He's an "Elemental Warrior". DAI's AW is the spirit side.

LOL  as soon as I heard the Avvar speak, obviously same VA as AW, not even trying to sound different.  I thought to myself—my character wearing the Avvar horny outfit: so this is what we get when Katari and AW have a child.  :)

I would like to see a bit more guard gen like the Katari now has.  That said, he is still a powerful character in the right hands.

I'm certain it's the same voice actor, and not even a different voice in and of itself.
. . .and is it the same Skywatcher (which is a title and religious role amongst the Avaar, not a name) that we meet in the Single-Player? I think so, not an important fact it's just-THE CARDS. THE CARDS. THE CARDS WON'T TELL: THE PAST, THE PRESENT, AND THE FUTURE AS WELL.

Yes, it's the same character.
