The red lyrium was spreading and had to be quarantined? I didn't know that. I suppose Kirkwall must have been happy to give it to Xenon in that case, maybe he had Thaddeus carry and it had to go for a cleanse of some sort.
Yeah, it's through the Aiding Kirkwall war table mission with Sebastian, through the Cullen path.

Don't... MANHANDLE Meredith. She is not... For sale. FIND YOUR OWN!
Please... Don't fondle Meredith.
No charge. NO CHARGE, MEREDITH! You hear me!?
"The Templars sometimes come here, you know. The blood stains take just weeks to clean up. Poor Meredith."
"Few people are woooorrtthhyy of an invitation, you know. They search the sewers for the emporium and accost poor Meredith. And I tell Meredith to say... "No! You are not worthy. Starve in the sewers!" Except Meredith... never speeaakkss."

I've been having some problems in downloading the Black Emporium, it just keeps saying 'waiting to install' no matter what I do. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, help please :-(
Meredith must be blocking and disrupting your connection with her Templar abilities.

Here's something more nightmarish to consider, which I've been wondering since DA2;
If Meredith was petrified into a statue made of Red Lyrium... and we now know that Lyrium itself is alive... could that mean that she's possibly still alive and conscious within that statue, trapped forever and unable to move?

I'd say she deserves it

Thankfully not.
Human bodies can't compress and warp like that without major internal damage.
She'd be alive in the way lichen covering a stone is alive.

Well, I didn't mean that she's alive underneath the Lyrium, but alive within the Lyrium?
Kinda like how Golems are created when molten lyrium is poured onto the dwarves body within then constructed Golem shell, destroying their old organic body and transferring their essence into the Golem shell? When the sword shattered and she was petrified, what if Meredith's essence was thrown into the statue, leaving her still aware and conscious, but frozen in the same manner that Shale was in Honnleath?

Lets hope not, we really don't want her coming back to life after an age and rampaging through Thedas.

She is going to be the villain in the next game. She will be even crazier and harder to kill.

Probably not. If red lyrium is alive, it probably had to use her body as fuel to grow.

She couldn't have been put to rest in a better place. Nothing better to decorate on the holidays than a creepy cheap statue. Some lights and tinsel and you a Xmas-Haloween combo, good for both fall and winter events. Not sure what time of year the Kirkwall explosion took place but you could put a tiny Templar or Mage flag in her hand to demonstrate your undying support. May a few Skyhold flower pots, all six if you like, filled with Blood Lotus, Black Lotus, Spindle Weed..maybe some Dawn Lotus, the blue in the flowers will make that red lyrium pop.
