Or a proper duelist, you know like the ones in DA:O which could use one handed swords, axes or maces in either hand. I'm not sure why Bioware are so reluctant to go down that routeWell, we had two 2h Warriors already as well, and just got a third.
It would depend on role. A Sword and Board warrior that could give support buffs like Zither but give Guard on Hit, and Guard in general instead of Barrier, and prehaps have Rally for that "Oh ****!" moment would be an interesting take.

Well, thats likely because warrior dualwielding is stone dead. Thats a design change they did in DA2 that carried over to DA:I.

But why? Its not like their overpowered afterall daggers have a higher DPS generally speaking. It would be interesting to bring back a proper duelist and it would make wariors a bit more onteresting than they currently are. Frankly I dont really consider Isabela much of a duelist based on the brief game time I had playing her. It seems a lot of her powers revolve around fighting at range and using her crossbow

IF the class, weapon and gender balance from the original were to be maintained, we should get 2H, bow and mage. 2 females and one male. I would expect more non-humans - Tal Vashoth mage, non-mage elf and human?
As for existing characters, I doubt they bring back anyone who could be dead ... dont they have some interesting characters in the novels and comic book?

Isabella has two trees, with different focus points. One for melee, one for ranged.
So it's a build question more than anything.
As for warriors dualwielding - it's just a design thing. Not all designs are supposed to be logical ![]()
Not that I wouldn't mind a dual wielding warrior Again, I enjoyed the one I have in DA:O. However, I understand the current design, since the dual wielding warrior really didn't do anything destinct.
Could you make a dual wielding warrior today? Sure, in software you can do anything - it's just a matter of cost and time to market. However, from a design perspective, I don't see it as happening as it would require going back on two game's worth of design for no real gain.

Exactly.

Mike Laidlaw: "We decided to sidestep characters who may be dead in certain world states."

Evangeline (Spirit Warrior!) and Rhys from the Asunder novel are good candidates for a future DLC. They already work for the Inquisition.

If they are going to bring iconic characters they have to bring the ones that are always alive despite your actions. For example:
-Morrigan, the shapeshifter
-Aveline, the guard
-Leliana, the bard (a rogue this time)
-Sandal (pleaseeee), the enchanter
-Sebastian, the royal archer
-Mabari, the...mabari
-(forget his name...) the "awaken" darkspawn?
Or they can bring new characters too.
- X, the Saarebass
-X, the blood mage
-etc....

Since they've introduced new mechanics with all the new DLC characters I hope they will continue doing that in case of new DLC characters further down the road. I can really see it with a blood mage, which could be interesting if you could "borrow" health from your teammates to keep your own health up while casting. You could control enemies and make them attack each other, maybe have a passive that makes your damage increase if your party's health goes down... Could also be great if the blood mage insisted (very unconvincingly) that they weren't a blood mage.
"Oh, hey, the enemies are attacking each other? Uh, haha, yeah that is so weird. Oh, yeah, I'm bleeding a bit... never mind, got attacked by a templar shadow earlier, don't worry about it..." *sweats*
Hey, nobody noticed if you were a blood mage in Kirkwall ![]()

I would say that guy from the Mage origin in DA:O but as they mentioned possible dead people cant turn up so that doesn't help, also I say Isabella should've been a swashbuckler or pirate as a agent type not the duelist to be honest and let someone else own that title for the agents.

Well, Ever since DA:O Isabella has been considered a duelist, so it would make no sense to return her as something new.

Well since it looks like BioWare is not afraid of adding in completely new gameplay mechanics, I would like to see some non-human/dwarf/elf/qunari agents added in the future.
It may seem odd to those players that only played DA 2 and DA:I but not every fantasy creature you see is a mindless monster that instantly wants to rip your face off. ![]()
Inquisition Agents I would like to see added via DLC:
- Sylvan Protector -
- Mabari War Hound -
- Masterwork Golem -
- Awakened Darkspawn -
- Werewolf -
- Ghast -
The new Fereldan Castle map and Great Dragon fights are epic, but the MP can always use new ideas so here are some game modes I would like to see added via DLC:
Siege (Offensive)
Siege (Defensive)
Prison Break
- DragonRacer, MattH, Broganisity et 3 autres aiment ceci

And Javik pls. He rhymes with Varric and is a d*ck to everyone.
Seriously though, as much as I'd love to see Varric join the roster, as an AoE/part buff/aggro redirection guy with more DA2 style skills, the fact that he's in SP as a companion artificer means not likely.
How about the DAMP version of awakened collectors, demons who fight against Nightmare and Envy because they're enemies in the fade? "Friendly demons" Or *aherm* "morally different spirits".
Terror demon:
'Butt jump' - dive underground and pop up under a target, aoe knockdown
'Scream' - could provide different aoe debuffs via a ZITHER!-like mechanism.
Hunger demon:
'Possession' - take control of an enemy unit, different units turn into different abominations.
Sky Horror (from Mark of the assassin):
'Hand waving bullsh*t' - massive aoe spirit damage over time, 50% speed reduction, applies weakened status.
'Cone of bullsh*t' - massive aoe spirit damage over time but blue colour and in a cone in front of you, eldritch detonator.
Desire demon:
'Float around on the spot and occasionally spin around slowly' - Doesn't even need a tooltip, biower pls.
'Auto-attack' - 50% weapon damage if you have >50 willpower and have posted repeatedly about how perilous is 2 ez.
Pride demon:
Giant pecs, purple abs of steel and an electric whip. Isabella gains 10% bonus to attack and an extra stack of elusive.

How else can BioWare know to give us our beloved Mabari, Grand Oak, and the Messenger agents in MP if not through constant repetition? ![]()

I could also see Maevaris join the inquisition. No blood magic, but I could see spells involving glyphs, arcane and barrier spells. She could be like the asari mage. Bubble up to provide cover against ranged enemies when reviving an ally.

I doubt blood mage is going to happen, because lore reasons. The inquisition is run by people of faith (which may or may not include the inquisitor). None of the main NPC leaders (Cassandra, Cullen, Leliana) would allow blood mages in their ranks.
Anyways, from my completely non-creative brain I can see three more warrior possibilities:
1. Ash Warrior w/ mabari pet, 2h
2. Defender, can grant guard to nearby allies sorta like the Justicar in RIFT, sword and shield
3. Champion, a more mobile S&S. Has charging bull (hilarious with S&S in SP)

Oh please, not Sebastian. Though I doubt anyone potentially involved in the Kirkwall/Starkhaven conflict (Sebastian, Aveline, or Donnic) would pop over as Inquisition agents.
Although I would probably find the banter hilarious.
'Did anyone try the ham back at camp?'
"The Chant tells us it is sinful to waste. But that 'ham' was...an experience.'
'Life is a journey, friend.'
Or Rion with his 'I hope things are better for mages.' Just...poor Rion. xD

also sorry for the late reply again, also Vortex13 I think I've seen you post on possible future characters discussion that was up before DA:I came out lol that prison break one im still for to this day! lol, and I recall somewhere one of the devs wanted to find a way to make a WEREWOLF playable as a agent since theres more then a single source of werewolves and the awakened collector of dragon age is the awakened darkspawn not a demon you see them in the expansion to DA:O called awakening, demons seem less likely to help due to a chaotic nature spirits on the other hand is entirely possible but we've yet to see(excluding Cole) of spirits being able to appear in our world in there own forms and not via a possession as we see with Avvar shamans and certain rare case mages like Anders or Wynne but its not unheard of as it seems possible to summon a spirit as seen in Solas's quest to help his friend Wisdom but as mentioned by spirits before most don't care for our world that's something demons want to get too.

I'd like to see past companions in MP, but didn't one of the devs say they were staying away from companions in past games who could be dead? That leaves Morrigan from DAO, Aveline and Sebastian from DA2 (I think?) I could see Morrigan venturing out from time to time, but Aveline has no reason to leave Kirkwall, and Sebastian is a Prince of Starkhaven now so I can't see him being playable.
Of course DLC companions returning is possible? Sketch, Tallis, Ariane etc. Or perhaps the characters from Asunder?

Morrigan isn't the type to be a agent and this is just judging the DA:O version the DA:I version just inforces that, Aveline will indeed not venture out of Kirkwall without her the city would drop to ruin and its possible for her keeping Grey Warden Carter away from the conflict and Sebastian is a tricky one as his war table options lead to two different paths depending on your final DA2 choices you kill anders and Sebastian will be a good willed person who supports Kirkwall thus he would more likely be a agent himself or send a Starkhaven Archer/Marksmen in his place then you have the let anders live option where Sebastian tries to go through with his threat and claim Kirkwall to the point of open civil war against Aveline herself and hes pushing against the Inquisition about the matter, and to past companions Tallis is a good option she is the representative of the Qun, the characters from Asunder and such are good choices as you can rescue Coles friends and get them to help you on the war table only, Shale is another option she was present in some Mage-Templar war moments and was present at Wynnes death, Oghren it seems he just doesn't die but at this point in time hes probably older and a Senior Warden who is magically missing from the story areas of fereldan same goes for Velanna, Nathionel and Sigrun, Merril I cant remember if she was killable or not but if alive shes busy protecting elven clans near Kirkwall, Sten is currently one of the leaders of the Qun last I checked and hes also a killable, Zervan is just a copy of the assassin but good chance in the later days of the game he'll be added for player fandom.
Sorry I made this so long! even im surprised like all hell on my memory and its total **** at remembering my lectures haha, but I want to throw something else out there the Devs can actually use characters created by a DA:O mod I came across quite awhile ago it made the game seem a lot more wider made DA:O the only game I own to be on a console and PC look up Karmas Origins Companions on NexusMods enjoy.

Since we now know that BioWare is okay with the idea of adding in SP characters into MP I would like to see my agent concepts I posted earlier be the following characters:
Sylvan Protector = The Grand Oak from DA:O
Even if the player killed him there was always his acorn seed that he wanted back. Any spirt powerful enough to attach itself to a tree and not go violently insane after hundreds of years has got to be powerful enough to jump to another vessel if the Warden killed his old body.
Mabari War Hound = A descendant of Hawke's Mabari
Due to the fact that the Warden could choose not to recruit the dog in DA:O (you monster!) we can go with a hound that is guaranteed to always be present in the cannon. After ten years in Kirkwall, the Hawke family pet surely must have started a family of his own.
Masterwork Golem = Thaddeus Gigantus Crumbum 3rd (Xenon the Antiquarian's Golem)
As much as I would prefer to have Shale fill the role of resident golem, she could be left un-recuited by the player, or killed (you monster!) depending on their choices. Thaddeus is always alive in the narrative, and I would be surprised if Xenon hadn't commissioned numerous "upgrades" to him over the centuries. It would't be too much of a stretch to assume that this golem could be on loan to the Inquisition at least until the issue with the Breach is resolved.
Awakened Darkspawn = One of the few 'good' Awakened working with the Grey Wardens
I would love to say that this would be the Messenger, but again player choice could see him executed
. This would have to be a new character, one that shared the aforementioned Disciple's willingness to work with other races. This wouldn't be too much of a stretch since it is very likely the the Architect Awakened many more Darkspawn that we see in the expansion, and even if not, he (or his knowledge of the Awakening process) will have survived into the time of Inquisition.
Werewolf = A new character that has ties to the Lady of the Forest
As with the Messenger, I would nominate Swiftrunner for this role if not for the fact that he could be dead or cured based on the outcome of the Becillen forest questline. Swiftrunner could be dead, but the curse that afflicted him and his fellows is still present in the world, and the Lady of the Forest is a spirt, and as such is immune to trivial things like death. With the Breach tearing the Fade a new one, it is not outside the realm of possibility that she could have re-entered Thedas and found another Wolf-man tribe to calm.
Ghast = A new character
We don't have any named Ghast NPCs running around so a new one can easily be introduced in DA:I.
