The protagonists from Uncharted and Deus Ex.

If you're dated then what am I, I'm stuck back at Gabriel Knight!

Those old Sierra point and clicks are kind of hard to forget.

Luvey... I named my son after Gabriel Knight. You're talking to that level of crazy here. Just so you know.

I was just thinking about how Sera's dialogue at the end of relationship cycle (the non-romantic one) make no sense to get her to tell you the background and how it reminded me of old point and clicks where you just click something clickable and see if it works...

Sera-Sierra... I wonder if it's deliberate

I think it's quite suprising how much personality can overcome looks in terms of making character attractive. Like:

Garrus_ME3_Character_Shot.png

&

tumblr_mhfb3j2Cnx1qip26po1_500.png

Not very conventionally attractive, but have tons of fangirls.

I wonder if male players would be willing to see for example Turian female as LI in ME4? Idk, would be intresting to see.

Dunno who that other guy is, but I'd kill for Garrus. Literally. Now I'm gonna go do some more calibrating... aaaah ****, anyone noticed how Cullen makes that joke as wartable banter? He actually comes up and says "I need to go calibrate the trebuchets" and then Leliana asks him "What, that again?" :D

The other guy is my icon, Deadpool <3

I think he's quite fine example of character who is not attractive-looking, probaply in any standard, but who tons of fangirls like and are attracted in.

Oh Jesus, that's Deadpool? Gosh... seems that I haven't read graphic novels in years O.o

Dunno about this "having heaps of fangirls" and what sort of sanity indicator it is really... I mean, the Slender Man has heaps of fan girls too... real fanatics, real girls, really killing each other... those waters get blurry after a point...

Lol I don't know if sanity is important factor here.. maybe not so much cause it's Deadpool after all.. since he's look-wise unattractive character who people are very attracted into. So pretty much any character despite the looks can be attractive to many.

Let's just say that if Marvel did dating simulator one day Deadpool would be my number one to romance :3

Considering Garrus is the default romance for my Shepard, and considering that I quite liked Nyreen (despite her slightly annoying NG character that was probably required to establish proper contrast with NE Aria), why not? As you say, the personality would have to fit too, and I've had my fill of Cassandra-type bigots.

Edit: Aria's personality in Nyreen's body and that as a companion/LI? Sign me up. (Only if she's not gated though, since I wouldn't want to have to make a whole runthrough with Malshepard. :<)

What's wrong with Cassandra? She's quite flexible for a Seeker...

I have no doubt that some male gamers would worship ground below female Turian.

However I wonder if there would be more of threads like "female LI's are unattractive/look like men". I'd guess that there would be more.

Uh. I think I need to wash my brain now, lol, sorry. Anyway, I can't stand Cassandra. I like her even less than Sten, and that's saying something. Her comments to my non-Andrastian elf mage were just the start of massive black clouds over my Inquisitor's head; what definitely made her hate Cassandra was her behaviour in the Temple of Mythal, where she awards the player's choice to go through without unnecessary bloodshed with 'Cassandra disapproves'. Apparently, wholesale slaughtering the last, btw innocent, remnant of ancient elf guards belonging to a different religion is a-ok with her. She talks grand, but when it comes down to it, more often than not she slips into a thuggish nature. Anyway, not the point of this thread xD

I don't think so. Turian 'beauty' is not culturally established, and so the subset of 'female Turian beauty' would be even more of a murky territory.

*Roll 1d20: 20 vs DC18. Terodil has made a will save against the overwhelming desire to include a snark about Cassandra.*

I think all characters have their flaws.. of cource these can break character for some ^^ Like I was little bothered when Cassandra was giving my Dalish advice that she should banish Dorian cause Tevinter mage gives bad impression to people.. well and Dalish elf gives better=  I like Cassandra a lot, but at times she can go bit overboard. Though I think her flaws add to her character.

Nah, it doesn't break her character for me, artistically she's sound. It just establishes her as a companion that I simply can't stand and that I wish I could kick out of the Inquisition altogether.

(And killing said remnant of ancient elves is not what I consider a 'flaw'. A 'flaw' is leaving the toothpaste open, or maybe even lapsing into passive-aggressive behaviour, but genocide -- which is what this amounts to -- is not a flaw that 'adds to character' -- in my view. YMMV ofc.)

Gosh... I can understand where you're coming from, although you do sound rather aggressive about it. I just can't help wondering what would happen if *you* met a person like that in real life out there. Would you be as aggressive? But, as you said, not the point of this thread anyway.

If I had a colleague/friend/advisor IRL who tried to push me into committing genocide instead of attempting a peaceful resolution? Who was least partly in charge of an organisation responsible for the fate of a large part of the country/world? You bet that I would consider that person unfit for that role and have him/her expeditiously relieved of the post.

Yeah, I'm not fond of Cassie at all. I regret if I come across as aggressive in this context, but the sole victim of this is Cassandra's character, so I don't really feel the need to apologise.

Anyway, this is the last I'll say on this subject in this thread. Apologies for keeping at it.

Before I read that last sentence, I imaging two people in a comedy office show with black humour;

*during a lunch break*

Steve: "Look, I'm just saying you should give this pamphlet a look at; it even discusses the pros and cons of genocide in regards to overpopulation!"

Bill: "God, Steve, why do you always have to make lunch so damn awkward?"

*during carpool*

Steve: "-I mean genocide is practically in our blood; we keep eradicating species and just look at all the times we've done it to natives even by accident!"

Bill: *sigh*

*Company barbeque*

Steve: "Hey Bill, this is my wife, Mary, we met at a pamphlet hand-out"

Bill: "Nice to meet you, Mary."

Mary: Nice to meet you too, Bill. Steve has told me so much about you including that you may be joining our little group someday!"

Bill: "Well, actually I-"

Mary: "Oh, we should have dinner someday then we can catch you up on everything!"

Bill: "Oh well, I think we may be-"

*Bill's husband comes up with drinks, having only heard the last bit*

John: "Oh, I was just talking to Bill about getting to know our neighbors!"

*Steve and Mary leaves, Bill looks at John*

John:  "What? I never get to meet your collegues and you never talk about them!"

Bill: "With good reason, honey..."

*at the office sign-in*

Steve: "So did you get a chance to look at that pamphlet or read the website we talked about at dinner Friday?"

Bill: *gritted teeth* "No, Steve."

*during work in their cubicles*

Steve: "If you'd just give it a chance-"

Bill: "No, Steve, goddamn it! I just don't feel that strongly about genocide like you do!"

*Everyone in the office looks*

Bill: *sigh*

*at the watercooler*

Henry: "Look, I know it is a rough subject and all but genocide awareness is important to get avoid government choosing to ignore their existence in fear of losing trade agreements-"

Bill: *sigh*

Henry: "-and I can find some pamphlets that deals with the subject in a more 'welcoming' way because you really should be more aware of genocides"

Steve: "That's what I've been telling him, it is important!"

Henry: "Steve's got the right idea"

Bill: ".."

Jarbarkas from Treasures of the Savage Frontier... Though I have to admit, I tend to fall over for Atton in Sith Lords and Nooj in FF X2.

The parser ones are harder...

A side note, they're doing a new Kings Quest.

Back to Dragon Age...
