okay its driving me crazy...like when i load the ME1 save file on ME2 it is saying that the council died at the end because i didnt finish it, but i just went back and did it again only to find out you cannot save after the last battle so how in the heck am i supposed to save them and have it count on ME2 witout being able to save the game after the final battle? please someone help im dieing to play ME2 but i dont wanna start witout having the story straight lol...
importing my ME1 to ME2 player question...

Well it really should have saved sometime after you beat the game. I really don't know why it wouldn't. I can't really help you much anyway as I didn't like the council, so I killed them all. So yeah.....lol.

lol welp i firgured it out you where right! it does save after that...just anyone else reading MAKE SURE YOU DONT START A 2ND GAME WITH THAT SAFE FILE!! lol
