I didn't see a general feedback thread for the new content, so I just wanted to say that I think the devs hit it out of the park with her trees and mechanics. Wading into enemies and alternating Vendetta/getting Elusive stacks is a ton of fun.

I haven't played MP in awhile, and I'll also take the opportunity to mention the various tweaks that I now see. I'm glad the 5/5 battle has been changed to prevent camping, I like the new Veilfire mechanic, and it seems the key drop bug has been fixed. Bravo!

They're probably going to need to nerf her. She does way too much damage while being too survivable.

Trust me, not if you have less than 30 on each stats.

What's the deal with veilfire?  Played a number of routine castle/dragon runs yesterday, and did not come across the veilfre bit once.  Probably just walked past it?  I know, I know.. watch the stream (I missed more than half of it, attending a funeral).

It's a random event, so you've just been unlocky.

But the stage fills with poison gas, so you start taking damage if you go outside the veilfire bubble. The objective is to carry it to a certain location and start a bonfire.

Enemies are of course not effected, and the gas makes it hard to see archers at range.

I haven't seen it on the castle map, but I've gotten it on every non-castle map.  Trust me, you can't miss it.

Thanks TormDK and FRZN.  Guess I should play some regular maps then.  Spent most of yesterday playing the castle.

The veil fire objective is pretty good when you have the 'I must be up front and kill all' kind of guy.  Had a Isabela character running ahead all map and continued to do so in the veil fire map and predictably croaked before they could get back to the group.

It's funny, I only had time for one match after the servers came back up early this morning and I got veilfire.

I wanted to level up Zither!, but without a chance of running into a dragon (my weekend group all promised to wait to fight our first dragon together). So I searched for an Elven Ruins map, got an empty lobby, started it up. No one ever joined. First objective was veilfire torch. Trying to dodge arrows while playing music and avoid Venatori, only within the safe bubble with a level one was a good challenge. Zither! Is the kiting master.

Resume Isabela appreciation. She is totally BA. I am so glad they found a way to incorporate the "avoidance" Duelist style into this game. This was how I built my first Warden in DA:O. Izzy is great because you actually get to see her damage avoidance as icons and can actively manage it.

Kudos Devs on making one of the most fun characters from DA2 fun to play in DA:I.

Loving the banter too.. "can we stop all this running, I am getting a wedgie in my bits..." "slap my arse and call me Andraste.." And best one I've heard so far when the Avvar mentions the fight on the glazier: "the shrinkage must have been epic.."

Isabela is indeed fun, the definition of a first world problem: Too many viable, fun skills.

As for the veilfire event: It isn't in the castle map (thank Andraste, considering the increased enemy count), but is something to keep the old maps fresh.

I'm really pleased veilfire is not in the castle.

e.g., 'wow, difficult to see here...' (falls down hole in ramparts...)

yep. lol.  Song combos: I was repeating the chords to myself over and over.  before you know it though, you're lining up your chords and making nice little diddys.

Better yet, when you load into game and the group is far away in bubble, while you are supposed to catch up through the gas. Or when Zither manages to catch only part of group in their speed buff and you happen to be the one not getting it.

It also takes the classic "to do or not to do doors" to new level.

Yeah, I'm really impressed by how she has so many good abilities and passives that all synergize with each other.  You'd have to go out of your way to make a build that doesn't work with her.

Devs stated it will never appear on castle map.  Only the 3 starter areas.

I got it on stage 4 in OC last night.  Was actually fun soloing threatening.  You drop the torch to fight.  (the guys that spawned in back at the start before I lit the fire didn't find it much fun lol - 1 spawned in dead by time he loaded)

:)

Veilfire thing is alright, although when we are kinda halfway through the zone I tend to just sprint to the end to light the beacon-thingy so we don't have to carry it around anymore. Dunno if teammates hate me for this.

My Avvar charged ahead to light the beacon (dropping the torch in the process of course)  :crying:

Why can't I light the beacon?

Where's the torch?

Fail !
