So a lot of recent RPGs have benches and other furnitures that is meant to be sat on.
So why isn't it possible to have your character sit down on them then?
Yeah sure it's pretty pointless, but sometimes I just want my character to sit down and chill xD
These are RPGs, I take the roleplaying in them far 
In Oblivion it was possible to sit down on benches, I did that a few times. Bet my character felt stressed when s/he had to fight those monsters hehe.

Sitting would only be good if it helped regain stamina in my opinion, but not out in the field where a bear could jump you!

Yes and oblivion was 2005 or so technology. I'm pretty sure that these behavior "clipping" are rendering boundary conflicts and part of "...we improved stability..." as when one of these "slippages" goes out of bounds the system crashes.
