I'm in the top 5% on the leadership board, and have about half the UR weapons, most at level III or less before spending 10M credits and trying to upgrade my rare and UR weapons. Have all characters..

I spent 5M on PSP, 3.5M on Arsenal packs, and 1.5M on SP packs. What went wrong.....I seem to get mostly got level IV ammo.

Really sux and frustrating.

Anyone with same experience or any advice about best way of upgrading advanced weapons would really appreciate it.

That just sounds like a terrible run.  Is this all in one sitting?

Back when I was working on my manifest, If an UR didn't drop after spending 1 mil credits, I'd stop.  It really seems streaky, tbh.  However, I reaped better results when buying in large quantities at a time, rather than a pack here and there.

You have the patience of a saint to sit through the store loading for so long.  Sorry to hear.

Yeah, I see people that seem to be venturing into silver and gold matches for the first time, already have things like the Typhoon and/or upgraded ultra rare weapons. Me, I'm still trying to get the typhoon. And I only recently got the PPR.

It's totally random and evens out over time, there's no strategy, just keep buying the 99k packs. Anybody telling you anything else is fooling themselves with statistical fallacies.

Praetorian is hungry for Vorcha too stupid to look behind it as it burned an A-bomb standing in the middle of Vorcha's team.

Thanx for the replies gang.... Maybe I've just had an unlucky run - hope BIOware fix such poor drop rates.

In fact that's what everyone seems to complain about for the last 2 years!

I have heard that if you've maxed out characters Reserve Packs are the way to go for weapon upgrades....maybe I'll wait another 3 months then try that strategy.

PS Ammo IV plus a great team support makes a huge difference at gold.

FYI - found  this little gem of info:

Geth infilitrator with Tac cloak + rapidfire (Geth hunter mode) allows the Blackwidow to get off 3 shots while cloaked!...if you've got a quick trigger finger

Whatever.  I bought like 7 straight Arsenal Packs in the last couple of days, and nothing.  Then I bought a Spectre Pack right before I quit today and got my Wraith VII.  Therefore, Spectre Packs are better for giving you UR's.

Actually, I can't complain, I have gotten 3 Wraith upgrades, a Javelin upgrade, and ..... THE LANCER 2!!!!! in my last 1.5-2MM credits or so.

No.  All three 99k packs give you the same chance for Ultra-Rare weapons.  The only difference is what they give you when you don't get UR weapons.  Arsenal Packs give you only Level IV consumables in the two Gold slots, so I only buy those.  I buy Spectre Packs sometimes when I want more consumables, even though they have a slightly lower rate of return on UR weapons.

That's a sign of true randomness. In which case, on a global scale it doesn't matter if you keep unlocking the packs in one run or take breaks.

P. S. Oh hey, I'm #5555 on the N7 rating leaderboard!

There is definitively something hokey around the randomness as it seems that you usually get (UR) upgrades for the same weapon in a row despite not having the others maxed. Personally I had a 3.6million dry spell between upgrades (brought 99k packs). On average you should roughly get 4 upgrades per 2.5million spent on 99k packs.

I agree. There's something broken if that's the case. That's very low weapon drop rate.

63 000 000 was the amount I spent once on only Arsenal Packs and that got me at least half the UR weapons right there in one shot. So I say luck hasn't been kind to you at all.

I did it over the course of like 2-3 hours, with at least 3 quick breaks I think? Wish I knew where I put that paper with all my purchases as I marked each purchase like my final days in jail. If it was an ammo, it would just get a slash on the paper. But if it was a UR, it would get a slash with a tinny circle dot on it. Which gave me a nice visual representation of my wet and dry streaks. I also think after to much of a dry streak would be when I staged one of my quick breaks too? With an exit of the store. But all I got to say about that big spend is that it far exceeded my expectations, since it lead me to only 2-3 more days of playing to finally hit max manifest. I needed like 16 more UR, and it felt like the store gave em to me in only under 30 000 credits, since I usually played for about 10 000 credits a day back then. So yeah, maybe that take a break theory works? Because last 2-3 days I was spending the money as I was making it and it was raining URs. Last two packs were even back to back double URs. Couldn't of asked for a bigger finish.

But back to dry streaks, yep, they sure scared the heck out of me with that much money on the line. But whatever, good luck on the store making it up to you for such a dry run.

You must have poor luck OP.

Also, I personally would not blow 10 million in credits in the store if you don't get a UR drop in the first 3 or so 99k cr packs (which shouldn't matter which you pick with regard to UR drop).  You can call that either superstition or trying to get a decent seed.

You are being failed by the intuitive (incorrect) perception of randomness. In short - no, there's nothing wrong with streaks, including unlocking the same weapon several times in a row. In fact, if there were no streaks - we'd know the store is not strictly random.

The seed value doesn't affect the distributive law. If it does, the RNG is horribly broken.

The store isn't strictly random if you want to get right down to it. It's a pseudo random system with an generated key IIRC.
