I'd feel a bit over-powered playing as a Krogan in single player! Maybe only in multiplayer.

Krogan can live for nearly 2000 years. The Patriarch on Omega was a veteren of the Rachni War and Wrex was alive during the Krogan Rebellions, albeit very young. They can survive the trip if the only obstacle is time.
For all we know, they may be biologically immortal.
