I notice that very few players use these; whether they know about them, or do but consider them useless.  Noted that they don't deal a ton of damage, so I can why some players ignore them.  I do use them myself, but still only doing R/T runs at the moment.  Perilous is another story.

BSN, for those of you who don't use them because they are sub-par damage, what changes can BW make so Trebuchets are considered worth using?

How much % damage increase would make them worthwhile to you?

BW, I will ask of you:

Can you increase the turning speed a bit (ie 10-15% speed increase?)

Can you add a turning handle to the other side of the Trebuchets?  (you know how precious seconds are in the middle of mayhem)

Sometimes when I have time I do those 7 pre-cranks out of boredom to prepare the things for shooting and everyone stares at me like "What is that idiot doing? The dragon ain't even in the position for shooting at it!"

I don't care about using them for damage, I use them because they take him off the roof right away so you can poke him with pointy objects more quickly.

Pre-wind when he's just flying around being a jerk and the turning speed isn't an issue.

Basically this:

Get them pre-wound and get that scaley arse back on the ground.

Has anyone been faded and actually been able to see how much damage it deals?

I know the dragons have about 240K-250K HP on perilous.

The trebuchet makes a nice dent, maybe 10%?

Not bad really, worth doing forsure. Like above posters mentioned pre-loading with 7 spins is magic.

Yeah, I was thinking the trebuchets do about 20-35k damage.

Here's what I've found from beta:

1) You need to turn the handle exactly 7 and a half time (Not 8!) in order to prep them so that only 1 single turn is needed to activate the trebuchet.

2) They do about 20k damage

3) They cannot stack with Mark of Death

If you have an archer with MoD, long shot and full draw, you can target the Dragon's head while he's on the roof and attack him that way

Funny, I like to think they are useful for the exact opposite reason: you can get the dragon off the ground faster, away from hurting your team. Their damage is so good it doesn't take long to get him off the ground again and into position for another trebuchet shot.

I may be wrong, but I think the trebuchets are only of use when the dragon is on the buildings.  Their aim is at the buildings only, so it is useful to get them off the buildings, for melee characters.

What I ment was that the dragon flies off after taking a certain amount of damage, yes? So if your team doesn't hit him with a trebuchet, it takes longer for him to get off the ground. More time on the ground = more time hitting your team. So, you come to zone 5 to fight the dragon. Prepare a trebuchet and poke the dragon until it starts flying. Shoot with trebuchet, kill dragonlings, prepare next trebuchet, poke dragon until it starts flying again (shouldn't take long because of damage from trebuchet), rinse and repeat. Fast and effective.

I didn't know you could pre-crank them. I'll try that next time.

So if it does 20k, about how much percentage of total dmg is that?

It seems to do about 10-15%. It might be a bit more than 20k.

On perilous, trebs really make a difference. I don't know if we should tell the devs this, but there maybe a pattern to which tower the dragons land on. Then you start out, wind the treb to the right of the stairs first, and than the to the left. After that the dragon will alternate which tower it lands on

Trebuchets are definitely worth using on perilous.

At the beginning of the dragon fight, it takes a little time before the dragon lands. Use that time wisely and get the team to split up while simultaneous "pre-load" both the trebuchets. The team will then have a potential of doing +40K damage to the dragon.
