Got ya, didn't I?  :P

For serious though, Howe didn't kill the ENTIRE Cousland family. Not really.

Okay, he sent his men ahead to attack the castle, and they managed to off Fergus' wife and son and mortally wound Bryce before everyone else got wind. By then, Fergus already left the castle and Mommy Cousland and Cousland Jr. were fighting their way through. Then they found Bryce, and Duncan says he can help them both escape.

So what does Mommy Cousland do? Why, refuse to escape with her son so she can stay with her dying hubby, of course. Because why go on living when your man isn't around, am I right?

Remember ladies: You are nothing without your man. You are his shadow. Where he goes, you follow. If he's dying, then you follow him right into an early grave.

(I'll bet she goes around telling widows, "Why are you still alive? Your husband is dead. You should have thrown yourself on his funeral pier. In fact, if you REALLY loved him, you would have killed yourself right before he died so you wouldn't have to live for one second without him.")

If so-called "badass" Elinor had chosen to live and help her children, Howe would have only killed HALF the Cousland family. He would have only killed Ora-what's-her-face, bratty-half-pint, and Brycie-pop, making 3. Meanwhile Elinor, Fergus and Badass woulda lived and reunited, making 3. Then as a family they could have worked together to exposed his crimes and get their **** back. (Yeah, they'd be out one castle, one nanny, and a house-full of servants, but they can always hire more.)

In fact, she coulda taken all the pressure of the entire Cousland family future of Cousland Jr.'s shoulders by going to Denerim to expose Howe while Cousland Jr. went onto become the most bad@ss Grey Warden ever! (Unless she's a girl, because we all know Elinor wouldn't let her fight. She'd probably drag her to court to find a husband.)

"By son! Enjoy all the trauma of seeing all your whole family die and guilt of not being able to do anything! Also, good luck being the only survivor of Castle Cousland, and bieng the only witness so no one else can backup your story (except Duncan, but he can't get 'politically involved')! Also, enjoy all the weight of the family's future on your shoulders! I could come along and help you, but I think it's better to stay with my husband even though he's dying anyway because 30 seconds without me is more traumatizing for him than 30 years for you without your whole family! (And if you're a daughter, don't fight! You still need to look dainty and delicate to nab a husband!)"

If Elinor ever did anything useful, Howe would have failed to kill the family and Cousland Jr. wouldn't have been left all alone to avenge the family all game.

I get the distinct impression you have something against the Couslands.

It might be that Bryce was Ferelden's diplomat to Orlais, or they don't approve of Elinore choosing to remain at her husband's side, take as many men down as she could thus giving Duncan and her son even more time to escape.

Just as a Morrigan in romance with the Warden once told the Warden, "You miserable selfish bastard!"

Whatever it is you're smoking, SHARE!  I want some!

I must say I was perplexed by the notion that they had to stay behind, for dramatic effect I suppose, it wasn't like they could not carry Bryce between the two of them (Duncan not getting involved of course, aside from being caked in blood upon entering the room, pretty politically involved I'd say) then again if that had not happened we would not have such a compelling narrative to the human noble origin.

Howe still had an army outside the castle. They had to sneak past them, move quickly and avoid a butt load of bloodthirsty men willing to kill anything that moves.

Carrying Bryce would have slowed them down considerably.

Pretty sure she stayed behind in order to buy Duncan and her son/daughter more time to escape and put some distance between themselves and Howe's men. Also, it was more dramatic that way.

Maybe this is why all the female companions follow the warden around if he's male 0_o

Maaan... keep your sexist cr*p to yourself dude. Your arguments are coloured with your biased thinking. I don't see a female Cousland having to tag around King Alistair. Neither males or females are weak or more superior than the other.

Counting down to see this thread getting locked up. *grabs popcorn*

They can always leave when the Warden turns out to be a real dickhead to them.

I hope he did not get banned just for being a Tabris fanboy. I've seen a lot worse posters than him.

Why was he banned? The guy actually shared some fair points and made me laugh xD

Also, I think he was being sarcastic on the whole "remember ladies" part. Or am I wrong here?

It's more than that. Did you see his opening post in this thread-

That post alone is ban worthy if you ask me.

Ban worthy? I don't see anything ban worthy in these posts to be honest. Exaggeration, sarcasm, he is quite fun - has sense of humor. I really do not find his posts any offensive. He would be great and favorite polititian in my country :D

Italy ?

While he might have been sarcastic (Which I don't think he was), he was bashing characters, with similar threads in a short time. That's not really welcomed by the mods.

Well I have to admit he should choose better and smoother words... that is true and some things were quite offensive (not in this post).

Italy? :) Well not so far from there, but our polititians have less mistresses, I quess, but enough of that ;)

Really?

Really, again?

Let me guess. The only politician you two are referring to is Berlusconi.

People should really stop generalizing.

That said, I'm not that big of a fan of the politics of my country either.
