The gameplay of DAI is pretty cool, but both the Warden and the Inquisitor had armies at their hands and none of them actually can command them, in the case of DAI we got three big onslaughts: Adamant Fortress, Arbor Wilds and the Jaws of Hakkon's ice fortress and yet it's Cullen and not your Inquisitor the one who plans the assaults. What's the point on have a large army when you can't actually lead it? what I would like to see is something to allow the players to use their own tactics in battle and depending on their choices, win or lose the match, it doesn't have to be really complex, something like the suicide mission from ME2 should be enough.

I have an example, as the new DLC is rumoured to be Darkspawn themed let's put a Deep Roads army against the Inqusistion's army, Deep Roads have Darkspawn, Golems and Rock Wraiths while the Inquisitor has Grey Wardens, Templars, and regular soldiers at his/her disposal:

-Grey Wardens are few in number, they are effective against darkspawn decent to face rock wraiths, but they are ineffective against the golems.
-Templars would be handy against darkspawn's mages and use a large number to endure golems but weak when trying to overtake the rock wraiths.
-The regular soldiers' numbers are able to overtake the golems and endure rock wraiths but would fell easily against darkspawn due the taint.

The result of the strategy could be from increase/decrease the enemies numbers to lose/win loot and even get some allied characters killed or saved.

Yes, having various outcomes would be nice, but it involves much greater planning and that appears in short supply during development.  Still up in the air how EA's injection of new blood will improve the process, but if they are smart, focus on two things:

1.  The character controller controls every aspect of NPC behaviors and quests and is a critical core module - any errors it causes should be a primary concern!

2.  Frostbite's surface boundary effects are the source of many instabilities and this one may best be aided by adding diagnostics to the Companions -sort of a QA drone function as one size fits all seems illusive. Say you've lost an NPC, they are not at the indicated position or there is not one.  Ask Sera (helping the little people) in diagnostic mode track quest and she will put markers on the map and or lead you to resolve conflicts more or less manually.
