Also we can create a political group and discuss about politics there, right?

Or some hidden hands would exterminate that group too?

Yes we shall name it Steve.

I live about 20 minutes drive from Ipswich. There's a few things to do there, like shopping, going to the cinema and several clubs and bars. The high street has really diminished in recent years though.
Speaking of politics, we have (had?) a Lib Dem woman secure bus services to Ipswich on Sundays, which was useful. I hope she keeps her position.

Yeah, Ipswich is alright, went there a few times. I lived near Bury St. Edmunds, and only near enough to go there once a week, so I spent the rest of the week marooned in the middle of East Anglian countryside.

I wasn't aware anyone but Tories were elected in Suffolk in 2010, unless there was a by-election I didn't know about. Or was it Council election?

So is the UK govt. now left wing or right wing?

Curious.

Officially centre-right, though it doesn't mean much. Left or right depends on where the centre is.

Thank **** for that, Although the Tories' victory was more to do with the other [parties are a train wreck more than because Cameron is an effective leader, he's still a limp wristed liberal in my eyes, without the backbone to do what must be done over the EU and reverse the damage done by Labour's last decade in power.

Labour and the Lib Dems got slaughtered which I'm delighted to see. I despise Labour. Their previous terms in Government brought the country to it's knees, it's good they've imploded, disgusting socialist liberals that they are. We can keep them from screwing up the economy for another 5 years at least.

While the SNP should now be dismantled with a conservative Majority to prevent Scottish MPs from voting on English matters and removing the Barnett formula, something which Labour would never have countenanced as they relied on seats north of the border to support their agenda. Bless the SNP and Nicola Sturgeon, the tiresome cow played herself into a corner. The English will never accept being dictated to by a jumped up Scotsman. While re drawing boundary lines in the seats should remove Labour's influence and anti Tory bias.

Proportional representation, is Pandora's box. Going down that rout would let the lunatics out of the box. Look at how many people voted for the Greens, a series of politicians with such little grasp of economics they would fail to run a lemonade stand. Hopefully the first past the post system has caused enough damage to Labour to keep them from holding the balance of power for a while.

Actually QEI was about as good a ruler as England ever had. Altho' Chuck 2.0 wasn't bad. If you must have a man, Henry VII would certainly shake things up a bit. :)

I like the greens. It's just that they are overly optimistic and too short sighted.

No better or worse than your standard run-off-the-mill mainstream politician. See my other posts in this thread on what I think of them.

When you only have one seat in Parliament, you can afford to be.

Assume that the only seat is occupied by someone like me!

See this is a trait most conservatives seem to share...

They think cutting everything is good management of an economy.  Short term gain till the next election and then pork barrel to win votes. Same as over here with Abbott.

To be fair, Labour did make a right mess of the deficit before Cameron & co. came along. It's been marginally better since then, but yeah, it's just how politics work.

They're loons that would see us living in huts and turn the country into a barter economy were we trade pigs and sheep.

Renewable energy pfffffffft, organic food, equality and diversity. Ha, they'd bankrupt the country in a matter of days with the insane drivel they published in their manifesto. It's the age old story of promising the moon and the stars, but getting someone else to pay for it.

The only reason Labour is more dangerous is bacause millions are stupid enough to vote for them

Yeah, our MP is always Conservative. It's our Councillor who is Lib Dem.

The thing that truly sickens me to my core is that the majority of youth are so gullible as to believe Labour's lies and that they're truly a "party for the working class who care about people's rights" but many of the older voters, voted for the other parties, having lived long enough to know the bullshit of Labour as well to understand politics and statistics.

Half of the Labour youth supporters I've seen on social media don't see to understand anything about the parties or their policies and only voted for Labour because of the propaganda they hear. "Labour is for working people so I'm voting them. **** the Tories, Tony Blair was a crap PM! Wait, you're saying he was Labour? IMPOSSIBRU!"

This is the party that slaughtered the economy and tried to pass so many bills through parliament that were in the interest of the European Union rather than Britain. The same party, that if it got into power, admitted they would continue burrowing (increasing the deficit) and not offer the public a referendum. The whole reason we ended up in this mess with higher taxation is because of Labour and they would have destroyed the economy again (and then left it to the Conservatives to clean up again).

Americans complain about their politics but at least they don't have to worry about their government having to satisfy some overseas union.

And if any of you have been looking at Labour reactions, they're making all sorts of excuses as to why they lost (i.e blaming the media, blaming the SNP, blaming Tory for scaremongering about Labour and SNP working together) Newstatesman responds to these:

Indeed.

It's the welfare state that Labour offers that gets so many voting for them, unaware of the problems it causes. Of course there should be benefits to help people but there also need to be schemes and encouragement to get into work. Labour have always done the opposite of that.

Also...

And what is wrong with renewables?  Forget the rest of what you said here but I think renewable energy like Wind, Solar and other things should be used as a means of energy production.  Why the hell not?

Take our country the lunatics in charge don't want to address climate issues and pollution. Instead you have statements from Abbott like "Coal is the future" google it.  he actually said that in a press conference.   Most of the people that backed the Liberal Party (the LNP) here in Australia were the big coal mining companies and people like Murdoch who have vested interests like Foxtel and his media empire..

In fact why do people like Murdoch try to influence elections? They should fvck off and butt out..

As it stands because of that influence we don't have world class internet here in Australia instead we still use copper wires pfft. We should be using optical fiber like other countries..

/end rant

Your crumpets shall be mush. Your tea shall be cold, and your puppy shall be among the non-living.
