Did it go berserk and explode?
Many many times
Did it go berserk and explode?
Targeting an orange unit is okay during a solo but it's way more satisfying when a teammate targets it for you.
I have the opposite problem, too many of my teammates want to target the unit, and I'm like jeez maybe the unit is tired today and needs to just relax in cover for a couple waves.
My "kill stuff" reflex is faster than your stupid sabotage, plus, if you specced it right, the enemy will blow up when I kill it and damage others. Why would I leave it to turn back into an enemy and kill me? Am I supposed to count to 10 and then kill it? Or count to like 3 if it's a Prime?
The object is to kill the enemies right?
So much newb, you musn't look. Get are shyI had a game about an hour ago with someone who was hacking Geth. I saw them hack a Bomber, there was a Pyro 5 feet behind the Bomber. I held my fire and watched.
The Bomber did NOTHING for ten seconds.
I shot them both.
Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

Heh - they should have hacked the Pyro it might have attacked the bomber; hacked units will basically do squat if there's nothing they can almost immediately target (but you knew that anyway). If the OP has been right about anything in this thread, it's that if you're going to use sabotage to hack something, it's gotta be the unit at the back.
Unfortunately it's the whole premise of speccing sabotage for hack and then expecting randoms to play the way you want them to that's flawed.
You mad bro? Anybody who plays this game a lot and happens to see a hacked unit will kill it immediately. If you want the glory of seeing your precious orange units kill each other go do a solo. Otherwise if you end up in my lobby and start hacking and crying when me or anyone else is killing it, since if you hacked it the presumption is, it WAS the most immediate threat, we will be happy to see your tears.
Go hack on the other side of the map away from other players, problem solved, otherwise respec into tech vulnerbility
Congrats, you have level up from having a full-bsn-elite-pro tunnel vision to a full-bsn-elite-pro d@ckhead post.
Hacking synthetics is a pretty crappy ability, don't really add much to the team - killing geth etc by Powers/weapons is a lot better.
It don't last long and the added damage is minimal, killing hacked geth is just what anyone would do.
QQing about it is just Epic fail.
The epic fail here is on the part of the full-bsn-elite-pro players is not understanding what the OP asked for, and dissing something without the slightest evidence.
LO: Bully for you, no one believes your argument
I do, you failed.
which is why everyone is telling you your idea is silly and not productive
before tech vulnerability became the reason you spec into it, the hack evo was how a lot of ppl played the FQI, but balance changes and DLC content overrule that now
you should get with the times and stop living in 2012
Apperently you, have not read this thread carefully enough. Plenty of people testified that hacking enemies can get you nice result, but apparently you don not want 'ugly' facts get in the way of your nice dogma that hacking does not work.

oh it does work no doubt of that, but the whole point of not shooting an orange unit is useless to defend at this point in the game. So you must be on the side of being mad then when that happens eh?
And telling someone his argument that is based on old 2012 way of playing it (his stated way), after which more balance changes and DLC changed how the kit was played is a simple fact, not elitism.other than that, it all comes down to personal preference and if that's how someone wants to play go for it go for it, others will alter that playstyle to suit their own needs.
You may disagree with my opinion and that's fine, but attacking another poster with vulgarity is a big fail on your part.
IDK how much you've read of my opinions but by nature I tend to be contrarian on some topics and builds. I do not mind the difference in opinion on builds at all nor do I really resist it. The issue with this particular topic is you're not just trying to change a build and a playstyle with that build but you expect your team to change their playstyle as well. I think that's where there is so much resistance because you have to argue the merits of the build and then argue the merits of teammates changing playstyle to accommodate the build as well. Again I'm not trying to be a close minded dick or anything like that I understand the merits of the changes but in a team formatted game unless you're playing with friends, it's not going to hit it's full potential.
The bolded part holds for most of the builds. If you take a biotics you will expect other to respect/ to detonate your biotic priming; if you take a drell you will take the grandes from the others; if you are an AUI/paladin you will force the others to detonate your cryo explosions, etc. The merits of the build and the merits to the team mates were presented several times in this very thread and ignored fully by the full-bsn-elite-pro players (perhaps not by you). You may not be a close minded person but the usual bsn mentality -as testified by the responses in this thread- is to bully and ridicule anyone who dares to think differently from the "bsn consensus". For full-bsn-elite-pro players shooting enemies with their fully maxed out UR guns is easier than to show a minimal effort to adjust to team mates, whom they regard "pugs", which is basicaly the synonim of "lowly scum", or "scrub"; especially that lowly scum dares to use a power that the full-bsn-elite-pro player decided not to work two years ago (and perhaps never tried since then).
Those conditions are usually with a group that knows what the routine is. If you want to make a special game with friends, or at the very least tell the pugs you are hacking stuff, and do that kind of run there's is nothing wrong with that. Then the conditions are met. What I take issue with is someone stating that pugs are bad because they shoot hacked enemies. It's not up to me or other players to watch your damn powers and try to decipher what you have spec'd.
OP probably didn't say a damn thing and just expected them to know what was going. In the end it turned out to be easier to start a thread pronouncing that pugs suck because they shoot the highlighted enemy instead.
BSN-elite-pro at its finest.
OP made a perfectly fine request, his only mistake was to post it on bsn. Any player with some experience in the game (which holds for all the posters here) can tell how sabotage is likely specced (from how it is used), but it is easier to ridicule the OP, ignore his request than to make a minimal adjustment in game (and to respect others).

Double standard that much? Because you and your buddies did not attack the OP?
Also on what exactly do you based your opinion that "not shooting an orange unit is useless to defend at this point in the game", when several poeple offered testemony to the contrary? Did you try it lately?
The fact is that you and your buddies went full force ahead ridiculing the OP without presenting any evidence to counter the claims made in this thread that hacking works. Claiming that is "2012 style" and that it was decided "2 years ago" is not evidence, it is labeling, which is a pretty standard way of bullying (especially when someone has no evidence to back up his claims). (Also the typical case of bsn-elite-pro tunnel vision when experinced players unable/unwilling to take the perspective of less experienced players.)

The term "pug" is an old MMPORPG term which is an acronym for "Pick Up Group" aka random team. "Picking up" as in typically you would spam a particular chat channel looking for people to join you, and if they replied, you would pick them up into your group, forming a pug.
Some later variations introduced an automated process that eliminated the need for chat channels. This change was met with mixed opinions.
Some pugs are scrubs and scum, but not all scrubs and scum are pugs.
Also: If I join your team, YOU become the pug.

OP made a perfectly fine request...
Hmmmm...
If you take a biotics you will expect other to respect/ to detonate your biotic priming
No I won't, I'll fully expect them to do exactly the same as they'd do if I wasn't using a biotic - on any kind of prime/detonate biotic kit I pretty much always expect to have to use the detonator twice - once to trigger the tech/cryo burst which will inevitably be on the primed target and again to detonate the biotic explosion. Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised and we get a biotic boom squad going but I never go into a PuG expecting it.
if you take a drell you will take the grandes from the others
Ye-es..? So good team players should never use Drell Adept/Vanguard? Not quite sure what you're getting at with this one, I wouldn't be expecting the team to change because I'm nabbing the 'nades, if I've dropped into a lobby with 2+ other grenade classes I'll just bail... otherwise what difference does it make?
if you are an AUI/paladin you will force the others to detonate your cryo explosions
Again I wouldn't expect anyone to change the way they play to accommodate this, yes it's pretty funny when you've got a Paladn/GE (overload) combo but I don't care if that Juggy continues to tank damage and totally ignore the fact that they could detonate my cryo explosions with Siege Pulse. I'm certainly not going to start a thread b*tching about it.
OP made a perfectly fine request
No he didn't - he made a thread that said "Lulz PuGs are still stoopid 3 years in" because he expected them to adapt to the way he was playing - that's what I've taken issue with throughout this thread.

I know what "pug" means. Here on bsn it is the equvalent of "scum". The last claim is reversible.

With those examples you are not "expecting" but you are forcing the others to either change their ways or to play the game on your own terms. I just want ot point out that with almost all kits there is an interaction between players that results in willing/unwilling adjustments, it is not unique to sabotage.
He made the request of leaving alone hacked units, which request (as long as they are not immediatly dangerous) is perfectly fine with me. Please explain it to me, why would you want to prioratize on non-dangerous hacked targets (assuming that there are other units around).
There, there. You're not the only race with a sub-par Engineer.
I'm here for you.

Now you're just trying to pound sand up my ass. I already mentioned that if I did notice it I may ignore the target temporarily.
And yeah, he deserves some ridicule for creating a post that calls out others as 'eeidiots'. Here's a final BSN-elite-protip: Deal With It.

I appreciate it but its obvious they don't want to pay attention to what they are responding to. I've already stated I'm not hacking enemies directly in front of them (In which case firing on it would be more understandable) but that I'm targeting units in the back, and then i see people ignoring all the enemies in front of them, to target the hacked unit in the back, which is just idiotic.
The last time I had someone spec'd into Hack in a match I saw something incredibly funny. Just happened to be Geth > White-Haz. The QFI was up above the ladder and not moving much. I was beating the stuffing out of the mooks in the stairwell on the way to beat the stuffing out of the LZ jerks. I paused by the QFI and down in the courtyard is a lone Prime. Hacked. Walking toward the back where someone was murdering a couple of troopers. Which were way dead before the Prime even made the corner. The QFI didn't shoot at the Prime (ya know - the lone one) or anything else like the LZ minions closing on them. They were watching their handy work down in the courtyard do absolutely nothing. I went full metal GI on the Prime and moved along.
Synergistic, man. Synergistic.

Yeah, because ppl do not ridicule 'pugs' day after day on bsn. All of a sudden everyone here becomes a grail knight trying to defend the 'innocent pugs' from the 'vile' attack of the OP.
Take a chill pill.
