Any fans on the BSN? They're all 11 minute episodes. 53 released so far from Cartoon Network. Deep, light hearted show that gives us a lot of feels. It's basically a little kid with super powers being raised by three powerful female aliens and a former rock musician dad while they're fighting against invading alien forces called gems. Watched everything this week on streaming websites and can't have enough. It starts like any light hearted show, with crazy moments then it gets a little more serious as the story progresses. I love it.

I love steven's universe, like one of the shining gems of current animation. The artstyles great, the musics great, everything is just so positive and good even in the face of adversity from without and within, the concepts are awesome, and I like the dark places it explores without it losing its innocence or charm. Plus the humor tends to get to me, I'll admit.
Though the feels...my god.
...
Anyway, it's a great show. Recommended episode would probably be Laser Light Cannon, Frybo, Giant Woman, Steven the Sword Fighter, and Onion Trade, and then if you want a gut punch of feels go with Cat Fingers and So Many Birthdays.
There, nice little starter pack list to see if you'd like the show.

I only catch CN shows irregularly as I think the channel is mostly terrible now so I haven't seen all the episodes. It's a pretty cool show from what I saw.

No OC yet. I don't really make OCs for shows I like mostly because they would always end up being Mary Sues or Peter Stus in my fics. XD

I would try Steven Universe, but I'm a brony and Tumblr has more or less forbidden us from watching it on pain of death.

There is two cartoons that disturb me the most right now and I never bothered learning their names! My brothers watches them.
- One is about a mustache guy who has a tiger pet and a few other fellows (a sandwich?)
- The other is full of unattractive characters. The main character is a chubby boy, there is a tall ugly long black haired warrior and a few more.
They're in short what is wrong with animation series right now. Both are like dumbed down Adventure Time.

That's Uncle Grandpa. Don't like that show as well.

Dunno that one.

Odd. I consider adventure time a lower tier of steven universe, at least when it comes to character writing and emotional impact.

Adventure time is more amusing, has better story and animation. Nuff said!
I watch Ninjago and the other Lego series sometimes. They're good.
And if I want to watch something really interesting (outside Star Wars) I watch Samurai Jack or Futurama which I haven't done in ages.

I can't really say I agree. Adventure time can be quite creative at times, amazingly so, but I wouldn't even say theirs a story at play. Its a lot of nonsequetors with character development hanging permanently at the wayside due to how everyone just shrugs their shoulders and rolls with stuff. Even the story itself seems lost up its own plot when it comes to building the world.
Stevens Universe has a simpler story which allows it to maintain consistency and explore a lot more into characters and the wworld building around them, and also has everything feeling more important.
Different strokes for different folks, but Im not really a fan of the collection of unconnected stories format. I like there being a continuity to things thst you can spot with ease and enjoy.

I'm slowly trying to get into Adventure Time... I don't really get attached so much to the characters compared to Steven's characters which all have things I can relate to.

I wonder if the writing for AT gets better after season 1. Watched 14 episodes or so and it's... I don't know, I'm starting to warm up to Jake, but the rest is just... Icky.

They're very adept at pumping in the feels - Frybo was probably the first time the show grabbed my attention. I've only seen about 10 episodes or so, but they do pretty well from what I've seen.
It does. Season 1 for a lot of modern popular cartoons turned me off, but get significant storyline upgrades after that.I wonder if the writing for AT gets better after season 1.
Season 4 & 5 are the better ones, from what I remember.

I adore the series very much.
I wasn't really initially expecting to love it as much as I did cause I got it by chance originally but between Giant Woman and Steven the Sword Fighter, that's when I was sealed in as a fan. I've probably watched Jailbreak a bit too many times. ![]()
AT for me personally... Well it has its moments but I'd probably never really call myself a fan if asked. I've seen a good chunk of it here and there and it never really clicked with me.
