Sounds like a thunderdome challenge
I've got 100 BSN BUX on Penguin because he didn't rage quit a threatening game.
Is there one for DAI? What are the rules?
There is none because games with auto aiming and lock ons require very little skill. There is no competitive element to this game at all. It comes down to who has the most stats and gear. Seriously, games like mario party or nintendogs takes more skill than DAMP.
If there is going to be a thunderdome, it should be traditionally done in the one true thunderdome. Collectors, Hazard Glacier, Platinum, on a game which actually requires you to aim

Aiming as the only "true" matter of skill and challenge.
And now all those playing LoL, DoTa, starcaft and even freaking chess feel like noobs. Because true challenge is when you aim. What a bullshit statement.

Im not talking about strategy when this is clearly not a strategy game. Its a 3rd person rpg. RPGs have never or will never be competative. I would have thought that was obvious. Apparently not.
Obvious?
So all those WoW, GW2 and many many many other mmo players just what? Mash buttons like stupid monkeys? Either in pvp mode, pve mode, mixed mode it's still a challenge is you want to be good.
RPG has everything you need. It has strategy elements like making good build, looking for synergy in them, typical build min/max + theorycrafting. There are whole forums and portals made around this concept.
Is DAI different? If you think there is nothing like that, take random build and go perilous. Good fun.
Second part is strategy connected with pve encounter. Attack pattern, behavior etc. You can't faceroll WoW raid when you don't know what the hell is happening. The same we have here in DAI. Knowing the enemy, spawns, bosses helps a lot.
Maybe DAI isn't that huge and does not have that a lot of multiplayer content. Why? Because it's still mainly single player game but it still has what is needed.
1) Effectiveness matter
2) There is some strategy involved in building, choosing gear.
3) Because it has action based combat even more important is how you execute your "strategy". It's now wow when ideal macro can rotate all over and you just eat dinner in another room. If you suck with moving, attacking, avoiding damage you would die, no matter how great your build is.
4) It's has gear and "promotion" progression. Main goal in every rpg is always "get more loot and power".
I don't get why you think ME3MP is so much more competitive. Build wise is nothing like here, what we had there, 4 skills?
Aiming you say. I could play melee guy, caster class and even don't use weapon at all. If I play as Infiltrator I'm competitive because I aim with gun but when I play ninja girl and spam sword around I'm not? Really?
If you take into account build variety + interaction between skills, combos, status effects in DAI it's way more strategic than some spam fest from ME3MP.
Chilling tremor is definitely a more viscerally satisfying skill than lady's wrath. It seems like high willpower is an important aspect of this debate too.
Just no.
to each his own i suppose. i don't really consider soloing platinum that big a deal in ME3MP. while certainly impressive i was able to do it after watching someone else's run and just replicating that, sure i was a few minutes slower not that difficult once you have a good understanding of the game(spawns, shield gate etc..).
now if we're all gonna talk about what we consider to take "skill" i'll name fighting games. i spent years playing and trying to master a game like SF4 among a few others. yet i was never able to break top 3 at any of the nyc tournaments i attended (which were quite a few came close though).

Soloing platinum in a good time in me3 is considerably harder than soloing perilous in daimp imo. Try Geth/Hydra or Collectors/Dagger. That **** is hard.
That said, id say that fast paced pvp games such as counterstrike, Street fighter, even super smash bros has the highest skill ceiling. Daimp is neither fast paced or has particularly complex mechanics to tackle. Sit round a corner and smash your way through zones with high level weapons and heal on kill rings is how you solo perilous vs any faction on any map.
Soloing perilous ferelden castle on alchemist is harder.Your argument is invalid.

Your argument is invalid.
... wat
ME3MP platinum solos are harder when playing certain maps and enemies because of how enemy routes, sightlines, objectives and spawns work.
DAIMP perilous solos are easy on any map or enemy because you can literally stand around a corner and hack away at them until they are all dead. If your stats are high enough then you dont even need to do this because you are basically playing threatening at that point.
At no point did i mention anything about weaker classes so your point is completely irrelevant. It doesn't take a genius to work out that using weak classes = harder gameplay, so if thats your only counterpoint then you've proved my point nicely.
All I see are a bunch of rabble-rousers ruining a perfectly good thunderdome challenge thread
When's it happening, and who's going to livestream the event?
Just get one of the bioware devs to stream it on twitch on friday, they will most likely die in the first round so it will still count. When's it happening, and who's going to livestream the event?

This is the chief difference.
Also about "standing in the corner in DAIMP". DD would have word with you.
One enemy in an entire faction, out of a possible 3 factions, appearing on two early waves. K.
