I just completed Jaws of Hakon. I can't believe they expanded her character role so much but didn't give us any more flirt options despite having the perfect opportunity to do so. :(

It was puzzling. They know many want a dwarf romance, and that Harding is a very popular character....so why not go that little bit further? Hell it could've been something like sitting by the camp and ended with them holding hands and Harding leaning into the inquisitor and then panning out.
something sweet.

Hopefully dwarves get some more focus in regards to both romance options, lore, and class options (want a third class for dwarves, i think shaper would be great opportunity to explore a new class and lore) in the next dragon age.

I'm honestly not someone who specifically is interested in dwarf romances, but I have to admit they seem to have written some of my favorite characters as dwarves.

I love Sigrun. It didn't really bother me much that she wasn't a romance option, but I really wanted to able to proceed further a Harding romance story because you can actually flirt with her for most of the game. It seems only fair.

I really thought that ending where Harding speaks to us about the seeing the person behind the legend of the Inquisitor after we kill the dragon was the scene that seemed almost tailor made for a romantic moment or at least a flirt option. The fact that there wasn't an option to finally get that talk she promised us actually made me sad.

I just find this love for Scout Harding so perplexing. Her character to me - is so unbearably dull and mundane - that I cannot wrap my head around how she has such a vanilla following.

I think her appeal is a bit like Bethany's, to be honest. She's nice, "normal", cute, doesn't come with a lot of drama llama ding dong and genuinely seems to like you. Plus, she's a dwarf you can have a flirtationship with... that goes a long way.

Oh, is Harding considered to be Tali-levels-of-yuck worshipped?

I wasn't even aware of that.

Not quite yet, and thank f*cking god for that.

Not this romance this and that again. Harding is cool but DA is a game about killing monsters and not a dating sim. As far as I know, the devs throw in a romance part as a "side-dish" for the players and it doesn't affect the main storyline at all.

I have a feeling that for some people romances are the most important aspect of BW games

It's not like she's just a random npc, that I figured it would be cool to romance like Tali in Mass Effect 1 (if I had wanted to romance Tali). There was an option to romance her that was basically left unfinished. I don't think I would have cared that much if there wasn't a series of so many flirt options already.

And I don't understand why you want her to be a romance in the future game. First you try to romance her with the Inquisitor, then with another character...?

The Cullen effect.

"nuff said.

I kinda don't want her to be a romance option in a future game. Then my Inquisitor ends up alone.

Too bad. What do you think all the Wardens who wanted to wait out for Cullen think about the results?

Cullen was an NPC you saw briefly once or twice, and only in one origin does the Warden even know him. And even then he has feelings for only one gender. Is it even possible to flirt with him? If so, it's only once for female mages in their origin.

Harding is someone you see throughout the game and you can both flirt with eachother regularly and eventually she tells you that she wants to spend more time with you and that you can talk after Corypheus is defeated.

Yeah... I think Cullen and Harding are on different levels, here. He was literally a guy the Warden met once (in a fairly horrible situation, too). Unless they were a mage, in which case he was only slightly more relevant to a female Surana or Amell than any other Warden. >____>

Doesn't mean he's not great, but a better example would be if the Warden was allowed to flirt with... Bodahn numerous times and then he asked you out and nothing ever came of it. Lol.

But seriously, where is he and sandal? Hoping the next DLC with darkspawn, grey wardens etc will feature them.

I wanna know what happened to Bodahn's wife who lives in Denerim?

Was he lying and he was never married, did she die when the Darkspawn attacked the city, did she leave him, or did he leave her by perhaps faking his death and moving to Kirkwall, taking advantage of the fact that with all those dead during the Blight, no-one would miss him?

I'm thinking it's probably the second one or third one, since the last one would make Bodahn a pretty awful guy?

Or just have a relationship where he comes and goes and she only worries if she doesn't get an occasional letter? He clearly was a traveling merchant once he got to the surface, after all.

Maybe it's common for dwarven dudes to just leave their SOs?

Bodahn and his wife, Gorim and female Aeducan AND his wife, Oghren and Felsi, Varric and Bianca...

True, I could buy that she's fine with him travelling around, but moving to the Free Marches and taking up a job as Hawke's butler? Seems like that'd be something they probably should have talked about at some point?

Probably. I'd say it was someone he married in Orzammar in the merchant caste by family arrangement (I get the impression a lot of those marriages don't involve much emotional attachment,) except I can't imagine why she'd follow him to the surface and give up caste too if that's the case. I've assumed she was a surfacer. I'd wondered if maybe she was a non-dwarf since he seemed pretty certain they wouldn't have children, and perhaps she had family or a business in Denerim that she didn't want to abandon.

Of course, the simple explanation is they forgot he mentioned a wife in DAO when they worked out DA2, lol.

Harding raises a question I've wondered about - will the chantry marry people of different races? Her flirts aren't gated after all. Though I think I saw something about the devs assuming formal marriage in Thedas is mostly reserved for families with property or titles, but that would kind of throw the city elf origin out the window.

Doesn't one of Soris' endings involve marrying a human woman? And I think Gorrim also marries a human woman in Denerim.
