As much as I'd like to think this is true, it unfortunately is not.  Inferno Grenades actually did originate on Tuchanka, but are basically the remnants of the largest sperm bank on the planet.  Since the genophage vastly decreased chances of Krogan having offspring, the wise and brutal Krogan decided to not let their champion milk go to waste.  No additives needed.  Pure fire.  This also explains why they need a quad to contain such fiery fury.  

 

I'm pretty sure I read this in the codex.

"Zaeed" is a old Krogan word, which loosely translates to "juice extractor".  I didn't even know they had those on Tuchanka.  Oh, wait.  Ohhhhhhh
