It would really help on jelly fingers if it were possible to just hold down the 'no.4 key' for continuous playing of the selected song (play the song whenever there is enough mana)

Swap power chord for upgraded cool beats. You'll see kill streaks galore.

Perilous may be a diff story, but barrier uses up so much mana I prefer armour, attack speed, heal on hit, cool beats. On threatening, topping the boards almost every time. Will post a YT vid shortly.

Power chord is amazing on Perilous and barrier is absolutely necessary, unless you have other people poping it.

If you time power chord right, you get free songs galore and you should also be auto attacking when ever you get the chance to and you wont see any mana issues with barrier song.

Hmm this should also work with cold beats since it dots things right. 12 seconds of continuous damage should kill something while you use your mana on other things (Stick it on a high hp enemy first). Or is Power Chord just a beefy enough nuke to command kill in perilous so you can time the more expensive cast after it?

Good point on this, I never thought about encore being used as mp management for support spells. I always thought of a More Nukes thing. Man this class is so good.

I've just been messing around with cold chord and I love it's set it and forget it nature. Virtuoso is the first class I've been excited to promote to try something new. Fast promotes too, having a good time.

*I don't play on Perilous, and always play on pug or solo.

Edit: Wow, I just saw a video of a virtuoso spamming power chord on perilous and it looks like he must have gotten 3 free casts with it and he mp only moved one time maybe 2 times. Ok, next round I'm going back to power chord, that's pretty crazy.

The trick to encore is to use offensive spells when you know you have guaranteed kills.

Power chord is amazing at taking down health, but it's easy to run out of mana doing so, so using it when you have guaranteed kills makes you a boss with more mana for defensive.

You will also learn that in Perilous, you don't want more than one virtuoso the game will start to lag pretty majorly, so if your in Perilous and not being more of a support class your party will die.

Also, parties are more likely to stick within your circle in Perilous, meaning that you are also getting bonus mana, however in every other difficulty, most people just run around like crazy and don't get any buffs or barrier.. ( In my mind is stupid because who wouldn't want buffs).

You will also score very well at the end of the match...

That's how I play it anyway.

Oh... Virtuoso is Avvars best friend.... If you want to clear a dungeon quickly, be sure to protect the avvar if he doesn't have his BiS weapon or any HoK.

Lol. I had a funny experience where a Zither I was playing with wouldn't get away from me when we were fighting the electric dragon.

He'd do his conduit ability - which you're suppose to spread out for - but this guy would stick to me, get stunned, have us take damage, get stunned, have us take more damage.

It was hilarious to see my, a keeper, running the hell away from our Zither as he got closer and closer. It was like a scary death trap. Eventually, we died. The other two teammates died within the first few seconds of fighting dragon.

Thanks! I actually didn't know that either lol. I got so used to the 3 note / strum rotation that I got used to the sound cues. I usually open with:

 Battle of the Bands > Sing-Along > A Little Knight Music > Auto-attack > Hometown Anthem//Fire Chord//Power Chord as needed. I don't like being a Barrier bot though.

If you want to work everything into the rotation with the least amount of notes, it would go something like:

COLD COLD COLD (Hometown Anthem) -> ELEC ELEC (Sing-Along) -> FIRE (Battle of the Bands) -> FIRE (Power Chord) -> COLD (A Little Knight Music) -> COLD (Cool Beats) -> COLD (Back to Hometown Anthem)

Of course this is just based on the skills I took in my build, but it's interesting to note that if you can keep the mana regen going long enough to loop it does sound like he's playing a song instead of just chords.

As for the barrier bot bit, I usually decide whether or not I will based on the group makeup. If there isn't a strong enough dps (I seem to get 2 Avvar/Legionnaire a lot lately) I'll take to spamming Power Chord, it seriously has no business being as good as it is.

The Virtuoso is fun to play and not that difficult - I usually keep bandit song with sing-along and barrier up. Problem with Virtuoso is that it lags the entire game into horrible unplayableness.

I honestly don't know how people top charts with him.

I consider myself to understand Zither fairly well. I boost attack speeds and combine it with the health generation. I'll barrier until I refresh buffs. Of course, if I need to barrier over boosting attack speed, I'll do that.

I literally do no damage though. Like... I'll forget to even attack. Not only because I feel my teammates kill the enemies faster than I can really do much damage, but also becomes someone, somewhere, will need a barrier. And if they don't need a barrier, then they can probably take some attack speed, and if they don't need attack speed, I can give them healing buff, AND if they don't need THAT -- well, let's just move around fast. Cuz it's awesome.

I'm always bottom of chart though. I mean, I've saved people countless of times, I've boosted the living hell out of my team, and running around doing my job properly, yet nothing. I just don't get it. Do you end up doing damage with your zither? Is that how you can get more exp? Do you focus on just boosting barriers so you get supp exp when enemies attack your barrier? I just... I don't. freaking. get it.

I thought Zither was going to be difficult because people would just strum a few times, run around, not do much, strum a bit - I'd get a barrier. But when I started playing him, I realized he wasn't too difficult if you remember the songs. But damn...it just frustrates me that I do so much for the team but get nothing in recognition for it - no score :/

This has been my experience with him so far as well. I'm not sure I understand what I am missing. I got into a groove with him where I would keep up Sing along, Battle of the bands, and Barrier up with auto attacks the whole time. I scored around 5k on perilous. While the lower level, same staff as me other Zither! scored in the 17k range. Only thing i can think of is that he was mainly doing barrier and power chord. But idk, I'm lost. I jsut spec'd into power chord so I will work that into my rotation and see how i fare.

Hmmm, let's see, I have 5 or 6 songs at my disposal, usually on a 12 second duration, that can overlap and be cast inside of a few seconds of each other providing maximum benefit to me and the team. Or! Or! Or I could hit 1 song then autoattack for the next 30 seconds. Massive facepalm.

Sadly that one song is often running speed boost......
