Seems like  MP has received a fair bit of recognition and extra content.  I don't play MP - but I am curious how popular it is. How does it compare to other MP games? Do you think MP for DA is here forever?

To answer how popular it is: quite a bit less than ME3, for a few reasons. And yeah, knowing EA, MP is here to stay for pretty much everything, even if it's not needed. Not that I mind DA:I having it.

it seems there is a number of people that still play it.  Personally  would rather play ME3 if I was going to play a Bioware MP, thats just me.

I do think its here forever.  I don't think its going to be a big part of the Dragon Age series and I think its of minimal concern/importance vs the SP (well I don't think...I KNOW....the evidence is right there in the game itself) to them.  I think Mass Effect MP will have more of a presence and more put into it when it comes out.

Still plagued with connection issues. Wanted to try out the new character I unlocked, I wrongly thought this new DLC might have meant more lobbies to be found. So far, not so good.

ME3 never had problems finding lobbies. Probably still easier to find an ME3 lobby than a DAIMP lobby.

I think the popularity of Dragon Age Multiplayer is going to be more dependent on the system you are playing on. Personally I find Mass Effect 3's multiplayer works better then Dragon Age's for I struggle to get a group to work on the PC right now unless its the start of a weekend challenge.

As far if it continues, I think it really depends on how successful it is for EA's budget, but if it does continue I hope there are significant changes for it feels like a poor copy of Mass Effect 3 which only needed a couple of tweaks to be better.

There is not incentive to play it. If people say, recieved gold in SP for playing MP, you can bet there would a lot of people playing it. As of now, there isn't much reason to go for it. Combat is not very fun, enemies can be pretty overpowered even on easy difficulty, "banters" are dull and boring. I tried playing it all night, and I only got a single full lobby so far. MP feels pretty deserted right now.

I haven't touched it, but from what I hear, it's not going to leave a lasting mark on its franchise as ME3's has.

It isn't going anywhere, though.

It's those bugs and connection issues that were real troubles. Before the Dragonslayer DLC, the MP actually seemed deserted.

It isnt too bad, just kind of repetitive and i find it hard to communicate with team mates. But i am pretty new to the MP so maybe im missing something.

Really, really grindy. Takes ages to level up to anything (presumably because promotions are actually useful, and they want to curb them). RNG strikes again, with the added bonus of accidentally salvaging much of your useful gear (they've taken steps to improve that, at least).

And, most shameless of all (esp with the grinding) - the money-to-value ratio of 'Platinum' (compared to ME3's BW points) is absolutely atrocious.

When it works and you have a decent group it's a lot of fun; I personally don't mind the grinding since the characters are so varied and you can try many different builds with them. It's fast-paced, co-operative and punishing if you decide to Rambo straight into a group of enemies. But as it has been mentioned here, there's still some problems with connection and finding lobbies. Nothing is more annoying than playing through a game and losing connection before you enter the end zone. The maps used to be very linear, which I didn't mind personally... at least the new Fereldan castle map brings some welcome change.

I like it and will continue to play it, especially considering the love it has gotten from devs lately with new classes, maps and balance changes, but I can see why it's not for everyone and the disconnects are really frustrating.

It's not for everyone, because not everyone can put up with the jerks ingame that ruin MP.

I keep trying the MP now and then hoping for a different result, but I just can't get into it. I find it boring, repetitive and buggy. Nothing close to what ME3 MP (despite its own flaws) gave us, unfortunately.

I wondered if fans of DA tended to fall more on the SP end of things as opposed to MP.

If the MP was better, do you think more fans would play it? I ask because I wonder if spending time and resources in MP is a good investment. Mass Effect is for me more of an action/adventure/almost shooter type game, so MP kind of fits better in my mind... although I still just play ME as a SP.

Has there been more additional DA:I content for MP than for SP???

In my mind it just boils down to:

Mass Effect 3's combat is way better than Inquisition's combat. Since that's all a multiplayer mode is, it's a very important difference.

I still play DAMP on and off and I think it's fun, but it doesn't keep me hooked.

I find the MP rather tedious and boring. I'm not a huge fan of multiplayer, so it really isn't much of a surprise I didn't like MP when I actually got around to playing it. The grinding is atrocious and the characters don't know when to shut up as they talk through the entire thing saying the same things over and over again. I just wish they would bring some of that to the companions in SP.

Initially I naively believed I would retire permanently from ME3 MP and only play DA MP, I was really wrong about that.

It only took a few hours to realize just how much better ME3 MP is compared to DA MP, ME is much faster and a lot better paced, the store though RNG is a lot better and rewarding than DA MP.

Now I only play ME3 MP again and have no intentions to ever go back to DA MP, sorry Bioware but you really messed up an opportunity to make something great and lasting here.

I wouldn't I'm a player who doesn't want to group up when playing a game. I like to take games slowly at my own pace check ever corner, loot every chest and MP just doesn't lend itself to that.

I must be one of the only people who prefers to solo MMO's I can spend days just grinding in one specific location without getting bored of it.

The fast pace of instance based areas just turns me off.

I played it for a few hours so far.
nor really impressed tbh.

I'll still play to unlock more classes and what not. But that's what I think of it at the moment.

The one thing I do like is that it's not like horde anymore.

Pity EA can't take a page from ubisofts book who will remove MP from the next AC to make the SP as good as possible. I do mind MP in DA after seeing the effect it had on the single player systems.

I'm pleased to see MP in Dragon Age, and enjoy it.

I think it's a permanent addition now, and that's a good thing.

Pleased that it also improves the single player game.

Just curious - how do you feel it has improved the single player?

edit - meaning, in what way, do you feel it has improved the single player?
