Or to travel around the world ? Or to understand how modern astrophysics work ? Great, just save money and buy it or buy things to learn about it. You don't have worry about girlfriends or relationships to make a compromise. 

 

You can do those things with a girlfriend. I'm not sure where you're getting this idea that having a girlfriend costs you thousands of dollars every month.
