Well, Guys, Don't shoot me, But I've NEVER ever found a Tarntino-directed film to be any interesting.

As a long-time Tarantino fan, I am cautiously optimistic about the Hateful Eight, as I was underwhelmed by Django & Inglourious Bastereds.

Personally I thought Inglorious Basterds was his best work to date

Pulp Fiction & Resevoir are my favorites mostly because the dialogue and banter is Tarantino at his best -- The characters make the story and in a somewhat similar fashion to that of Big Lebowski or Guy Richie's Snatch, it's hard to say what exactly Pulp Fiction is about. A lot of the humor is somewhat similar between the Coen Brothers and Tarantino in fact (examples like Fargo, Burn After Reading & Lebowski) -- That explains why I like the films so much -- Well, that and several other reasons.

Coen Bros deserve more credit than they get

What was underwhelming about either of those movies?

The ending of Django, plus how he magically became a super-sniper.

Bastereds was good, but it never seemed like the pace picked up for me... it was building up to a climactic scene which never happened. (I understand that Hiter dying caused a new time-line, etc.)

I guess I am simply a difficult critic when it comes to Tarantino

Nah. I agree with Bastards, I wasn't fan of the pacing either. I still liked it just not as much as T's other works.

Sweet, that's Jennifer Jason Leigh. She's one of my favorite actresses (like, real actresses). Tarantino always seems to get people who kind of disappear, and then shows everyone what they were missing.

Cool to see Michael Madsen back again too.

I could do with revisiting some. Haven't seen Pulp Fiction in a long time.

I liked Django, but not Inglorious so much (except for the German dude). Loved Death Proof... I wish he'd do more action like that. Because he knows how to do it better than most.

Don't know why.

Well, it wouldn't be a proper Tarantino thread without posting that one particular scene from Sleep with Me where Tarantino explains what Top Gun really is about.
