Medallion, there's been some great suggestions offered to make the game more challenging. I suggest platinum volus solo only using melee for damage dealing (no batarian fisting, either).

First, I don't really think that Bioware is going to cater more to any group of players based on Platinum purchases. I'm pretty sure the Devs care nothing about Platinum or they would have designed it to be more attractive to purchase. If I had to guess their Daddy EA wanted microtransactions in the game. I don't get the vibe that Platinum really ever crosses the mind of a Bioware developer on a day to day basis.
That said, I agree that there is no challenge for those who have poured many hours in and gathered tons of promotions. Luke has given the impression that they are working on something to revise the promotion system and give something in the way of a harder difficulty. But that will take time. If you are not willing to wait for a new difficulty level, you would probably be doing yourself a favor by discontinuing your grinding. There are many other games that can consume your time and while it sucks to grow bored with a game that you once loved, you have to realize that you fit into an extreme minority of players who have abused the promotion system well beyond what the shortsightedness of the original design ever intended. The VAST majority of players (even those on the leader boards) are not as pumped up as your heroes. So if they spent time to make that content that would satisfy the hardcore 1% they would be wasting time compared to making content for all the menials.
It sucks but it is what it is.
I can see where you would be frustrated but I don't know that your vision of the game is the same as Bioware's vision.
Possibly reaching a certain amount of promotions unlocks a new difficulty? or would that be too limiting in the playerbase for those playlists that it would leave them null and void?

No, the limitless promotions is the problem.
No matter what entry level you have, people are already going to be overpowered because they spent every waking hours grinding a system that gave them no rewards.
It's either stat capped dungeons or friendly fire active, not making a new difficulty that can be enjoyed by the 0.0001%

I am sorry but I cant bite my tongue any longer... its a darn shame how weak these dragons are. It sucks how there's no new difficulties for stronger players... *Shakes head*
while discussing the game as I usually do with friends and to tier players (players with well over 1000+ hours and or in top 20 ranking)
some of my friends had some good points, and I would like to share them as well as my own views about the game thus far as well as weigh in on the new DLC.
1. it sucks how like I said before there's no difficulties for the top tier players. I know your catering to the majority and not the minority but for us loyal players who have dumped in 1000 to 2000 hours in the game the ones who you know will stick it out, don't you think we deserve a little treat like higher difficulties perilous is all but a joke, as we grinned and prepped for an awesome dragon fight only to be let down.
2. better dragon fights are needed . it seems, like i said above the dragons strength has been set to cater to the majority... which is at this point low levels (people with very low stats and hours [100-200 or less]) the dragon fights seem so stale, all the dragons have a limited move set and are very very predictable to the point that when they fly off it is more of an annoyance then a fun way to implement stage based weapons.
3. I know there's been threads about this, but more variety of enemies , many of my friends that moved on to never winter came back for the 3 bosses at the same time fight only to sigh when they were taken away, but stayed in hopes of cool dragon fights :/
4. more weapons...!!! the current new weapons added are a freaken joke very unimaginative and very stale. Sure the HoK (heal on kill) is a nice touch and the attack is lovely but there all basically the same (dragon weapons). no unique effects no dragon runes for dragon fights and the pool of new weapons are only a rare and Unique for each type of weapon... I mean come on don't we deserve better us loyal players who have grinned wished and hoped since day one.
5. only one new map with three different effects?!!??!?! depending on the dragon fought. This was EXCITING!!! for the first day but soon became a bore as we started to speed through it like any other map. at lest different maps for different dragons or even mix it up..... but like I said its an Awesome map, its a Nice step forward but just seems like to little to late.
I really hope we don't have to wait another 5-7 months for another update and I hope its of much better quality then this one, I pray more thought is put into it to make it really grab the attention and bring back some lost players and persuade them to stay the next time around, because I know a lot of people are shrugging there shoulders and going "eh....the up dates meh...".
Me and my friends grinned and were so excited to be ahead of the curve, and ready to smack down some dragon and take on a truly challenging boss, but bio ware.... your dragons are nothing but limp effigy of what should be a great boss fight with awesome skills used against us.
All We see is a Game with so much great potential .. to be one of the greatest games of this year hell even of this decade.....with a truly fun and unique multiplayer experience and you guys just seem to fumble the ball at every turn... unlike a lot of my friends I'm willing to stay to see if you can fine tune and start getting it right... but even I have my limits and with other great games coming out to compete with don't be surprised if you see your servers filled with tumble weeds in the next few weeks....
Edit: Lv.2 Potions man my Hp is so high the potions are all but worthless.
edit: Besides dont we deserve something for us the "Elite" players who poured our heart and soul into this game ?
Maybe Bioware could give the High Dragon it's own version of cheatengine to balance it against the PC playerbase.
Also, playing "1000+ hours" does not make you "Elite". It just means you've played more hours.... I would have just as many hours as you (maybe more) if I didn't work and have a family. Ah how I miss my youth ![]()

Medallian, others have already suggested it, but I'll add to their voices. Why not try using lesser gear? Some of the lower level rares and uniques have nice enchantments on them, it would make things more varied and it would up the difficulty until BW releases the new difficulty for you leaderboard types.
I don't think capping stats will be for everyone, but given the huge spread of promotion stats, I suspect it will be hard to balance the new difficulty.
Enemies would move faster and attack faster. Maybe all basic mooks should have 3×hp, elites 2×hp, bosses 1.5×hp, archers would do triple damage, melee mooks 4-5×damage, enemies would get barrier and guard busting abilities, and lieutenant type enemies would get aoe buffs eg to attack speed. AI would be upgraded so archers would use cover, and gain leaping shot as well. Melee mooks would split up to try and flank you, or hit your back ranks. Shield guys would hang back to protect their archers. Spawns would refuse to fall for obvious LoS pulls, forcing you to attack them.
Oh, and more enemies generally.10 despair demons and 10 terrors simultaneously (ie all spawned together) in zone 4 of the castle. At least 5 venatori spellbinders per spawn.
Enemy units need more abilities. Stealth units get hidden blades. Enemy mages get pota, chain lightning, static cage fire wall, ice wall, Winter's Grasp, horror, immolate... Red templar horrors and knights get an aoe lyrium bomb attack the works like walking bomb with dot and then an aoe explosion with knock down. Pride demons get druffalo charge. Fear demons get proper stealth and damage buff, and horror. Enemy archers get a proper longshot with upgrade so they can hit your entire team round that corner you're trying to do a los pull.
Give enemies the ability to use combos, eg put you to sleep and then proc a nightmare combo, for example. Imagine if you're all grouped around a Zither, who gets paralysed and then they proc a discharge!
Dragon too easy? Triple the number of dragonlings per spawn, and quadruple their damage. Introduce drakes and mature dragons in the spawns as well; it would be like a mini dragon fight while the high dragon is taking a break to fly around. If you don't kill them in time, you have to deal with them while the dragon is landed. What the hell, make them spawn continuously throughout the fight, so your entire party can't just gang up on the poor high dragon. Double the dragons HP, quadruple her damage output, reduce the cooldown on her guard generation and her aoe rune attacks. Increase her attack speed, and make it so she doesn't telegraph her melee hits so obviously and slowly.
Er... I'll stick to perilous, thanks.
Wow, the reactionary posts to the OP ... some are way over the top, and some are just childish and off topic. In my opinion I think this is a great game and it should cater for everyone that wants to play it. From the guys that play for one hour a day to the obssessed that play for hours on end every day (like myself). I am not a programmer, however I would think that at least creating a higher "nightmare" level initially should not be that difficult. Basically raise the armor and the damage output of the mobs. The post that I have pasted here sounds like great fun. I am a widower and live alone (with my lovely dog) and probably play about 40 to 50 hours a week. Oh, and I love the new map, the dragons, and the new characters.

One thought i had was that at a certain point maybe you would stop getting stats and get points to spend on special rewards (Unique appearances, special banners, extra potions, wearing extra rings) so that there are still things to work for without throwing off the math anymore. The challenge would be giving some other sense of progression once the stat creep is over.

"The general playerbase can barely beat Threatening consistently, let alone Perilous. There's no point in opening up a new difficulty when the only ppl who will play are the less than 1%ers and leechers. I'd like to see more noob controls and visible attk rating in the lobby first. Even if they made a cut/paste copy of Perilous with 25% boost on AI stats, you'd be making a thread the following day complaining about noobs in your lobby."
the only reason for this is because the players who can beat perilous all left and went to other games lol because what I was talking about had not been done and they lost intrest, and the same thing might repeat with this new crop of players. I would like to see that not happen.

Since it's still rng, there is no incentive to purchase platinum if the results are the same...
Depends if you bought some with Platinum as that would increase your equipment level. I can tell you the number would be difficulty to read and seem like an error. And just in case you thought I was serious about the Raider swords. If I had that power my account would have 4 Calibans too!

No. There's no block function. Whatever you do, don't go into your profile and click on the ignore list button. It deletes your profile and all of your DAI promotions.
For someone who gets really upset when other people tell him how he should be spending his free time, you sure have no problem telling me what I should or shouldn't do.
And I don't suppose it occurred to you that you were responding to a post in which I make a tongue-in-cheek comment about you having a tendency to claim that anyone who doesn't openly praise/agree with you is trolling by accusing me of trolling?
I just keep looking at the fact that you called a thread "BioWare's Limp D." I'm remembering how you are so freely willing to stoop to petty insults, and periodically going in to perfectly friendly threads and dropping aggressive, hostile posts calling people out for joking around with each other. And yet, me making a meat necklace joke is somehow too much for you?
Are you sure you're cut out for the internet?

Medallion. you might realize at this point I've been around for a while and my points tend to be valid. Tend to be constructive where it's deserved. But you give little for me to be constructive about in this thread. There are a lot of points I could have brought up that you really wouldn't have liked. Threads that I could point to that are buried well back in the forums and things like that.
you've disparaged either about number of hours or number of promotions for a very long time. Gotten very demanding about how all runs should be done more than once. The True Elites don't turn away players for low numbers or being new. So no. There is going to be no real new content to please you if your looking for content catered towards Elites. Playing with midranged weapons with good bonuses. particularly with your over-leveled stats is not really giving yourself a challenge gear wise. Or looking to make things truly harder for yourself.
I've seen a couple of people actually use Two Handed Maul's just because it limited the number of enemies they could hit with a single swing. Making it more of a challenge for them because they couldn't just mow through large groups with splash damage weapons as another example of ways to increase difficulty.
Or challenge yourself to protect some of those low stat characters your so against while trying to be elite and see if you can keep them alive and in good condition.

People who play as much as you are probably 1% or less of the player base. So no, you should not have a bigger voice. We all have the same voice, there's just more of us than there are of you so that is why you aren't catered to. The fact you think there should be more people who play 10+ hours a day is totally messed up man. It isn't Biowares fault you play the game night and day. And let me be clear, I'm not trying to insult you for playing so much, you can do whatever you want with your time. You need to check into reality though, you are where you are because of YOU not Bioware. You chose to play as much as you have, which is unrealistic for most of the world.
The more content a game offers, the more time and resources needed to develop it. If it took 1000+ hours to reach end game stuff, I would not bother buying it nor would most casual players. So now they aren't making any money to pay for this huge game, it just doesn't work.

This game has been out 180 days (Nov. 14, 2014 to May 13, 2015).
1000 hours/180 = 5.5 hours per day. I'd be shocked if even 1% of the playerbase put in that kind of time.
By nerfing "crap in a game", aren't devs weakening characters and abilities, thereby increasing the challenge for you?
You say people are trolling you but all I see are people pointing out facts and stats and you completely ignoring those posts.
Most people on the forum are making suggestions and talking about future, as well as existing, content. The only one not doing anything positive is you by ignoring posts about business, profit margin/line, and majority versus minority that have been explained over and over again.
