Yep, they suck.
That's why PC modding makes all the difference >.>
The number of complaints about the atrocious pajamas is inversely proportional to how much BioWare cares to replace them.
Maybe the forum could make a swear jar, and pay for the work to add in casual clothing options?
No point in creating topics anymore, I think Bioware have moved onto the new IP now. Dragon Age will get very little attention from this point onwards, Bioware have completely ignored fan requests and haven't read a damn word on the Feedback and Suggestion part of the forum. Multiple topics were created for hair, armour, clothing and weapons from day one.....all went unanswered and ignored by the team behind Dragon Age.

They went unanswered because there's no way to win. The actual answer isn't "NO" - it's always possible Bioware might find the resources to release the content (as paid or free DLC). But yes is inaccurate - they might never to anything. Maybe is unsatisfactory - it's a total non-answer and it annoys people.
When faced with a situation where you know you're going to disappoint at least some portion of your community, the best option is to say nothing at all and disappoint most of them?

I think what In Exile is pointing out is that Bioware can never win with these sort of statements. If they say 'no' people get angry and complain that "it's so easy!", "Bioware don't care about their fans!" etc. and then if they do release it later all that hate was for nothing. If they say 'yes' not only are people insanely impatient, to whit the Black Emporium, but if Bioware fails to release it later people still go "Bioware doesn't care about its fans!" but also "they lied to us! I feel so betrayed" etc. 'Maybe' can also be similarly misconstrued. At least saying nothing raises no expectations and if they do release it later people will be pleasantly surprised, if not, well they never said they were going to.
Honestly though I think they should just say 'no', that way there are no expectations etc. and then if they release it later people will be pleasantly surprised. And they show people they're listening. Only issue is if they continue saying 'no' people will go "they don't care about us!" etc and then they run into the same issue.
Edit: I realised I didn't really directly answer your point so here goes: with issues like these, I feel, you're only going to end up disappointing most people regardless of what you do. 'No' disappoints most, 'yes' puts them in a tricky situation where they have to get it out or risk a rage storm, 'maybe' puts them in the same situation where people feel validated to say "it's coming!" and others where they're disappointed (it's just generally confusing) and nothing disappoints most but raises no expectations.
Isn't there suppose to be a toggle option for Skyhold?
Yep, they suck.

I play on a PC
Would rather they allow the player to have the option ON ALL PLATFORMS to get rid of the Grey Pajamas.. :/
I'm not berating the issues and Nexus has mods, just be aware there may be issues with every update. On the other hand, I really don't need my PC to act as a kW room heater when there is nothing going on, but some code conflict. These random halts and slow downs in animation are tiresome and the roll in/out frequency of the tactics system nausea inducing. I have to say there are higher priorities!
I'm going to skip my usual speech about how they are clearly not pajamas and you're being ridiculous by saying they are.
Instead, I'm just going to point out that they are obviously not gray.
They don't look like pajamas. Not quite sure what to call them, though. I don't dislike them, but I think maybe having some options for them would be good.
They should have based the Inquisitor's Skyhold clothes on clothing from the medieval or renaissance period:
Something with the Inquisition's heraldry would have been cool. (black, gold & red with the sword, sun & eye symbol )

they are a muddy gray/beige color. Is quite used in this period in furnishing. Are actually called mud color. really. I'm not joking. Many furniture have these hybrid color (not gray, not beige) but always very tenuous and neutral. That's because so every kind of furniture can be combined with very strong colours, or with already existing furniture.
Problem is: is a good color for furnishing, but not on clothes. Expecially not on clothes in a videogame. Is incredibly bland, expecially in the colorful world of DAI. ![]()

The suit, whatever it is, is offensive to my eyes and shouldn't be forced.

They are "Skyhold beige"
Passively disappointing people draws less ire than actively disappointing them. When faced with a situation where you know you're going to disappoint at least some portion of your community, the best option is to say nothing at all and disappoint most of them?
I hate the ugly base outfit. I hate the hairs. I hate the ugly plastic looking beards..
I really really hate this stuff..
really.
But it doesn't matter.. I'm waiting for the postman to deliver me The Witcher
I'm bored with DA:I
They did end up saying something last week. On Twitter, which we all know is the best source for dev information.
I can't find the link at the moment, but apparently on twitter someone has asked if we could have more options, and if they could "fix" the method of coloring our underarmor (aka, our clothes.) The response from the dev? "Assume it will not be fixed."
First off, it's not like he can pretend to know that he doesn't know what we mean. These complaints have gone far beyond Tumblr, the BSN, DA twitter feeds or their Facebook page. There is often threads on reddit, Gamefaqs, IGN, Gamespot and many other gaming sites about the clothes as a bad call. If they aren't going to change their minds, why don't they just say, "Yes, I know what you want. Sorry, but the answer is no." By, I don't know, using their official forums? Just a thought.
You know, it isn't the negative answer that makes me angry. It's the fact that they couldn't just come onto the forums and say so in any of the numerous weekly (and sometimes daily) threads about this . They wouldn't need to stick around to read any angry or upset responses, just be professional. You know, not be vague and dismissive. It would help quiet down a lot of these threads. They can't even say that? It's easy:
"More clothes options please?"
Dev: "The answer is no."
None of this "assume it won't be fixed." If the answer is no, then most of the fans are mature enough to take it. It seems almost like they are actively dodging the fans by avoiding the forums. Unless they feel like using a Tweet, because it seems like BioWare in general assumes that everyone uses twitter or looks at the Twitter thread on the forum. It seems like "cute" and "cagey" are the BW devs favorite way of giving answers, which just sucks.
Of course, they don't bother to even unsticky the patch note thread that they've locked. ![]()
It's really simple to just say "no", and bail afterward. As far as I'm concerned, I don't need them to justify why. It's their business, and if they don't feel like explaining their reasons, I'm an adult. I can handle that.
I don't appreciate being forced to go to sodding Twitter to get an answer. It's not the lack of options that get to me the most, although that's there too. It's this crappy communication and these "cute" indirect answers that make me mad as a customer. If we can't get more options, then use your forums and just say so.
I will stand by my love of their games, but this terrible communication is incredibly sloppy.
<adds a quarter to the swear jar for the word "sodding">
If I remember correctly Bioware said in a panel that they were originally going to let us change the color of the cloths at Skyhold but it ended up not going in the final game.

They put my requested interface change in days after I requested it. Aesthetic changes in a game this graphics-intensive are a lot of work for little gain. Plus, who knows, maybe they're putting together a DLC package with new armors and hairs and stuff--they don't always communicate that until they have it ready to go.
