2) Wynne VS Vivienne:

Vivienne, I think Wynne is too much of a softy and lacks enough attack power to take down Viv before she can use her KE spec to it's fullest potential

 

3) Cassandra VS Alistair:

Cassandra, she's much more experienced, a great leader and a hero in her own regard. Also there's some rumors going around that Alistair did in fact take Lyrium, which basically makes it a no brainer that Cassandra can just knock him out straight away with her Seeker gift.

 

4) Blackwall VS Loghain

Loghain, a seasoned warrior that helped free Ferelden of Orlais' iron grip. There's not much that can win against him, especially not a chevalier. GJ Blandwall, you're so boring I forgot your background

 

5) Iron Bull VS Sten

I think IB would win by sheer force, but he probably will let Sten win if Sten took up the mantle of Arishok

 

6) Leliana VS Sera

Leliana, although give Sera a few more years and she can get on an equal level with Leli.

 

7) Cole VS Zevran

Cole, he's a spirit, can make people forget. Unfair advantage for him from the get go, Zevran really stands no chance, unless the elf outsmarts Cole somehow

 

8) ?

 

9) Varric VS Oghren

Varric. Ranged VS Melee? Srsly? This is just unfair from the get go, so long as Varric keeps kiting Oghren, there's no chance Oghren can get in range to whack Varric even a single time.

 

10) Dorian VS Anders

Dorian. Because **** DA2 ANDERS! Dorian's most likely more experienced because Tevinter allows mages to flourish as well as the fact that in theory, Dorian's Necromancer spec is 10 times more usefull than Ander's spirit healer spec. An army of undead is great against a single mage.

Well, if we're talking straight combat:

 

1) While Morrigan's shapeshifting may give her an edge, I'd say that Solas being an unknown makes this undetermined, his rift mage abilities are formidable, and he likely knows a great deal more about the fade, spirits/demons and ancient elven magics than Morrigan does. All in all I'm leaning on Solas.

 

2) Wynne, because she's basically augmented by a spirit, though being dead now kinda should make Vivi the winner by default XD

 

3) Cassandra. She has more experience and has likely received far superior training than he did.

 

4) This one is tough. Loghain has vastly more experience and has a great deal of interest in killing a chevalier, even a former one, though Ranier's fighting experience doesn't make for any slouches. I'm tempted to say Loghain, 'cause he's seen some sh*t.

 

5) Iron Bull. He could just as well gore Sten if he was so inclined.

 

6) Not sure about this one. If it was a matter of maneuvering through a party and piercing the facade of the nobility, then Leliana would be the clear winner, but in combat, I'm not so certain. Sera's Tempest abilities likely afford her an upper hand.

 

7) Cole. No contest. I'd say the same would be true with any of these characters pitted against him, except maybe Solas for obvious reasons.

 

8) Varric, though this one is kind of unfair, because the real winner here is Bianca. It'd basically be the Indiana Jones fight all over again.

 

9) I want to say Dorian, as he likely has far superior training to Anders, being an upper class citizen of Tevinter, but post-Justice Anders might make things tricky. Awakening Anders would surely be defeated though.

Morrigan vs Solas

Solas is a different kind of being than Morrigan. Provided Morrigan without the essence of Mythal, she likely wouldn't stand a chance.

 

Vivienne vs Wynne

Wynne is backed by a spirit, but it's not exactly a war mongering one. And one she can't quite control properly, too. Definitely Vivienne, cause she will do anything to win and is at least as powerful a mage.

 

Alistair vs Cassandra

He wouldn't even be able to hurt her if he wanted to. Cassandra would beat him without much of a fight, and Alistair would make a dumb joke making everyone laugh about it.

 

Blackwall vs Loghain

Loghain has seen many things. But he's old, and most importantly, he lost his will. Blackwall fights for something other than bitterness, and is at least equally well trained. I like to believe Blackwall.

 

Iron Bull vs Sten

Even though I like "the" Sten way more than Iron Bull, I think he'd lose. Bull has all his experience, yet he allows himself to be more creative & resourceful than Sten could ever be.

 

Sera vs Leliana

Sorry kid, but you ain't calm enough for this fight. The elf has some fierce tricks up her loveable sleeve, but due to her brash & impulsive nature, Leliana would see them coming. Sera isn't the one with the vilest, dirtiest secrets.

 

Cole vs Zevran

Cole, easily.

 

Varric vs Oghren

Oghren would be a twitching pin cushion before he drank up. Varric is all talk, too, except Bianca isn't.

 

Dorian vs Anders

Pre-justice Anders never struck me as particularly powerful, so Dorian would clearly show him a thing or twenty before whiping the floor with him. Justice in rage-mode would return the favour, however.

Yep, my bad. I haven't done BW's personal quest in ages and apparently remembered diddly squat from when I did it the first time. He was aided by a Chevalier though, right? I distinctly remember the word chevalier being involved with BW"s background somehow.

4) i'm gonna go with blackwall just cos i've never let loghain live, so i don't know how good he is
5) this is hard.....i think iron bull would win. sure, sten is part of the antaam and became arishok, but iron bull spent all those years living amongst non-qunari peoples of all types - he's got to have learned some new tricks that the antaam would be unfamiliar with or wouldn't think of.  i think iron bull would be far more flexible in a fight when it comes to resourcefulness, plus he's very intelligent as a spy.
6) leliana...i really don't think there's a competition here.  sera may be good, but there's a reason why leliana was the left hand of the divine, plus she's an accomplished bard and is probably much smarter than sera in a fight
7) cole, because i feel that he could cheat by making zevran temporarily forget about him mid-fight and use that to his advantage

10) as much as i absolutely love and adore them both, unfortunately i think vengeance would give anders an edge in a fight.

Morrigan vs Solas
This one's tricky seeing as Solas seems like he's been hiding his true power. That being said based only on in game displays, I'd have to give it to Morrigan. Especially if she drunk from the well of sorrows.

Vivienne vs Wynne
This one's isn't IMO as obvious as everyone makes it to be. They both have more or less the same training being raised in Circles. But Wynne is more experienced and is helped constantly by a spirit whereas Vivienne is a knight enchanter. All in all I'd say Vivienne beats Wynne but only just.

Cassandra vs Alistair
This one is one of the easier one's. Cass beats Alistair hands down. She's had more training and she's more disciplined. Alistair never had a chance.

Blackwall vs Loghain
This is a tricky one. If you compare both of them at their peaks it goes to Loghain no question. His Hatred for Orlesians only supplements his superior skill in combat. But in Inquisition Loghain is easily in his 60s pushing 70. In conclusion I think Dao Loghain wins, DAI Loghain loses

Iron Bull vs Sten

This one's got to go to the Iron Bull as much as I like Sten. He seems stronger, more skilled and just more combat ready. But I think it would be a close fight.

Leliana vs Sera

Sera doesn't stand a chance against Leliana, even if she's in her 40s. Sera is simply not skilled enough to go toe to toe against leliana.

Cole vs Zevran

I think this depends on circumstances .If the battle begins from Stealth, Cole takes it as he is far more stealthy. If however it's an arena style fight to the death I think Zevran has a fair chance simply because he's way more experienced whereas Cole sort of wings it.


Varric vs Oghren
Not really fair seeing as ones a warrior and ones a rogue. In terms of sheer entertainment value give it to Oghren. If they didn't have weapons Oghren wins. But nothing's stopping Bianca and with no shield, Oghren's screwed unless he's equipped with some fine armour.

Anders vs Dorian
One on one both there specialisations are pretty much useless. So I'd say it's a good each way bet. If this was DA2 Anders though I'd have to give it to him.

This one is a lot tougher than the Hero vs. Inquisitor thread. First, we need to match these people appropriately. Here are my picks:

 

Cassandra would spank Alistair.

 

Blackwall I think you'd have to compare to Oghren, Loghain. or Justice. So I think it would be...

 

Justice > Blackwall = Loghain > Cassandra > Oghren > Alistair

 

The Iron Bull vs. The Sten would be difficult to determine. A more fitting match would be pitting The Iron Bull against The Arishok version of The Sten, since Origins is 10 years prior to Inquisition. I think The Arishok version could beat The Iron Bull, but I think The Sten would lose.

 

Rogues:

 

Sera could take down Leliana no problem just because of Tempest OPing alone. So I think Sigrun would actually stand a better chance for her damage negation. Nathanial would too, and this is because of the Awakening specializations.

 

Sigrun ≥ Nathanial > Sera > Leliana > Zevran

 

Cole would annihilate Zevran. A better match would be between Cole and Sigrun or Nathanial.

 

Sigrun ≥ Nathanial = Cole > Leliana > Zevran

 

But I think even Zevran could take Varric down.

 

Mages:

 

Morrigan can beat Solas, though Solas might be able to use Mythal's compulsion now if Morrigan drank from the Well. But in general, Solas is high damage, low defense.

 

Vivienne is Knight Enchanter, so she would beat Wynne easily unless Wynne is spected as an Arcane Warrior, and I think she would have to use the Spirit of Hope as well in order to stand a chance.

 

I think the only mage who can actually rival Vivienne in the game is the Inquisitor.

 

In a match between Anders and Dorian, I think Anders would come out on top. (Not in that way. Shutit!)

 

Vivienne > Morrigan (DA:I) > Anders > Vellana > Dorian > Wynne > Morrigan (DA:O) > Solas.

 

Poor Solas. LOL! But that's assuming he hasn't regained some lost powers at the end of DA:I.

Oghren vs Varric = Oghren. He's one of the best fighters in Orzamaar while Varric has to use a bloody crossbow.

Dorian vs. Anders = Anders because Anders is two people in one.

I'm guessing this is in terms of power.

1. Solas wins hands down. He's a ****** God.

2. Wynne. She's older and more experienced.

3. Cassandra. Alistair is skilled, but Cassandra has the power of fanaticism. That can really drive people.

4. Loghain beats Blackwall any day of the week.

5. Sten. Iron Bull is a badass, but Sten is the Sten. And he got made the Arishok. There has to be a reason.

6. Leliana. (Unless Sera turns out to be Anduril)

7. Cole. He's half spirit and fully insane. A lot more dangerous than Zev.

8. Oghren all the way. Varric has a fancy crossbow. Oghren has alcohol and rage.

9. Surprisingly this one I cannot decide I'd say Dorian might've been more powerful than Anders earlier, but after Anders merges with Justice, I'm sure he's stronger than Dorian.

 

if this isn't about who's stronger, but just a x vs y, which do you like more, it's the Origins cast all the way. The only characters I liked in DAI from this list were Dorian and Blackwall. And not as much as I liked the DAO characters.

1) Solas - he's a dreamer and I'm pretty sure DAI's barely scratched the surface of what he can do. As far as I can see, he's probably on a level with Flemeth.

2) Vivienne - knight enchanters are unstoppable. Though Wynne could have the element of surprise with her spirit.

3) Cassandra - she's a one woman army. Plus Seeker trumps templar.

4) Loghain - the guy's a living legend, and it's strongly implied that he's a great warrior.

5) Sten - I'm not sure about this one, but Sten's a soldier and seems more disciplined.

6) Leliana - she has far more tricks up her sleeve and is more ruthless.

7) Cole - no contest, he has access to magical abilities far beyond anything Zev could use.

8) Varric - if he's got range.

9) Anders - I don't know if this counts, but I imagine having an angry spirit in his body could push him further than normal. Though it would also diminish his control.
