sadly my old PC was nowhere near up to spec to even think about running DA:I so I'm rather late to the party but I'm finally here and have played for a while. mostly I'm enjoying the game, it's too early to say if it's closer to Origins or DA2 in quality but there are some issues that I feel compelled to draw attention to
firstly the patch version... you'd expect that would be listed somewhere, if not in game then at least in the Origin program, right? yet I had to go into the install folder and open an .xml file just to find out if the game had automatically patched or not. I imagine this particular flaw would also apply to every game available through Origin (or rather with Origin itself) but I mention it here because really it should also be visible on the games menu screen as well
then we have the UI. does it really need to be so huge? why is there no option to use smaller portraits and bars? why does that quest tracker show up all the time in huge and intrusive letters with the only way to get rid of it being to manually tell every single quest to stop tracking immedietely after acquiring the quest? this is easily the most annoying issue and one which I can see becoming increasingly irritating the more I progress with the game
and no option to name saved games? if you were to make a list of features that every single game should absolutely have then that would be right there in that list with no excuses acceptable. "Save - Frostback Mountains 3:23" tells me bugger all about what I was doing at that point and there isn't even an accompanying screenshot to go with it! I realise that many games thesedays are making the same unforgivable mistake but that's no excuse
finally we have the scroll wheel. for some reason when reading notes I have to click the scroll bar at the side of the screen instead of using the scroll wheel on the mouse which exists for the very reason of scrolling such things
