tbh gamers r known for trolling n the more negative members of our niche is taking potshots at her via what she thinks we are. thus fueling her agenda.

i cant speak for anybody else, but i am so indifferent about who saves who in a game or if link is or isnt a girl. I dont hav anything against female characters but as a man i identify better with male leads. Thats no sexism.

Nobody hates her because she's a woman (well, some people probably do, but I guarantee that they are a gross minority), they hate her because she makes up false information and spreads it as truth to slander a bunch of people and the hobby they enjoy, which only serves to bring out the Tumblrites who are stupid enough to actually think that there's rampant misogyny and sexism in gaming. Then when Anita rightfully gets flak for what she says, she and #FullMcIntosh spin it into a narrative about how she receives daily hate mail for having the audacity to be a woman. Her Tumblrite stooges see this and retweet it, post it to Facebook, do whatever to spread the word and it eventually reaches the news ("a woman is receiving death threats from a small number of crazy people? That must mean that all gamers are misogynistic rapist pigs on par with ISIS and the N**is!").

 

Then she scams people out of money by promising to make a bunch of videos that never end up seeing the light of day while her boyfriend #FullMcIntosh spends his days on Twitter tweeting out angry hate messages to people he doesn't like, and people defend what the 2 of them do, because lying (and spreading lies) and hate speech are okay so long as you say it's for a good cause.

 

"Devil's advocate" or not, it's hard for me to admire a woman who deliberately says idiotic things to garner attention, and then plays the victim card when she inevitably receives criticism for the idiotic things she says. Like sticking your hand on a burner and complaining that it's hot, only it makes headlines and suddenly all stovetops are violent, murdering androids bent on eradicating the human race, because ONE of them hurt you.
