Just a warning. If they say the new Mass Effect will be released this year, it won't. Most likely early next year.

Also, I don't want to know ANYTHING about the new ME except it's release date. I will try my hardest to keep myself away from all the news. DAI wasn't as surprising for me since I knew almost everything about it which sucked.

The marketing baton will pass from DAI to ME:N, most likely during this year's summer conference season,

though it doesn't have to be E3.

After DAI's success, don't expect ME:N to throw lessons away, even if they follow their own path.

I suspect when and how ME:N launches will also be affected by whether there is a ME Trilogy remaster first, or not.

In any case, rumour (again) is for a Fallout 4 launch, which I will certainly be interested in.

Not even early next year. I'd say Q3/Q4 next year is the earliest possible release window.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the game ended up being pushed back to early 2017.

If that would be the case then I hope EA doesn't reveal MEN. Having a release date announcement, being two years from now doesn't make sense, look what happened with Watch Dogs.

What success? Sales? Please, DAI was released on 5 platforms the only Bioware game to do so. Of course it will be their highest selling game

GOTY? Please, 2014 was a slow year in gaming but some game had to win it. DAI would not have won if it was released this year. Hell, with TW3, it might not even get best RPG.

When the ME trilogy remastered, ME4, new IP are announced at E3, DAI will be last year's news.

Ugh, I don't have high hopes for the next Mass Effect at all. Especially with the example that Dragon Age Inquisition is setting with this release. It just seems like with each game Bioware is simplifying more and more aspects of their games. They seem to be shifting away from a story-focused game and towards watered down MMO content and filler. And with the inclusion of the Mako of the next title... I can just imagine driving around to colonies, clearing out enemies and "saving it", then rinse and repeat that formula. Then, it's obvious where most of the marketing is going these days (Multiplayer), I imagine they'll focus a lot more with this on Mass Effect since I'm sure they'll get a lot of money from buying credits with real  money transactions.

Btw, I wasn't always this bitter about Bioware's video games, it's just that when you see a company whose games you enjoy go in a direction that you don't like, you get frustrated. (Especially with the lack of rpgs on consoles these days.)

As for the OP's question, I can't imagine them marketing anything DA:I related at E3, they'll probably move on to Mass Effect and get the hype started for that. If any marketing does come out for a DLC, it'll be a video on Youtube and Bioware's website.

Again, it was the first and only Bioware game to be released across 5 platforms, of couse it will sell well.

As for it getting good reviews, well it released in late 2014, a year that saw many letdowns starting with Watchdogs. DAI was at least decent so of course it would get good reviews. It was a decent looking lump of coal that was surrounded by low grade coal. Again, if DAI released this year with the big AAA titles such as Halo 5, TW3, Star Wars Battlefront and Arkham Knight, things would be different.

Well thanks for that illogical contribution  .

  • Cross-generation does not suddenly mean there were more people to buy it, they were just split across transitioning formats.
  • Of course someone had to win it, and with 134 GOTY's DAI was it. Other comments are simply a subjective 'what if...
One clear lesson of 2014 is how foolish it is to predict game quality months ahead of release.
  • Of course DAI is last year's news, it was released last year.

I'd like to hear news about the new IP, part of those news being about how the game will be single player and story driven (wishful thinking).

1) Having a game being released on 5 platforms expands the install base for the product. During November 2014, there were many people who had not made the jump to X1/PS4 but yet owned a Xbox 360 and a PS3 and was still interested in getting DAI. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if more units were sold on the Xbox 360 vs X1 and more units on the PS3 vs PS4 because like I said, EA never released the raw numbers so we do not know which systems saw the most sales and which saw the less. We just know that DAI is Bioware's highest selling videogame of all time and you have to be naive to believe that having 5  platforms to release on has no effect.

2) Again, DAI won GOTY out of convenience. Watchdogs was a dud, Assassin's Creed and Far Cry was a dud. Advanced Warfare was good, but it was COD and thus nothing new. Masterchief Collection was just a prettier version of previously released games and GTA5 on PS4/X1 was just again, a prettier version of a year old game. Then you have to factor in that Arkham Knight and Witcher 3, two games that were on everyone's radar for Q4 2014 was delayed to 2015. With that being said, the way was clear for DAI. It was a game that wasn't all stellar, but it sucked less than many of the other 2014 duds. Admit it, Bioware got lucky with DAI.

3) And as time passes and the hype settles, people will see DAI for what its worth. I was hyped to play the game but 2/3 into the game I saw just how slow and dull it was. I felt like I was playing an MMO or a wannabe Skyrim. Hell, I wouldn't care if DAI is the last DA game and all the staff moves towards the new IP and Bioware just focues on Mass Effect/New IP/SWTOR and leave Dragon Age in the dust. I know that wont happen of course because they have to make a sequel to Bioware's "highest selling game".

Really? I wasn't aware that a whole bunch of new gamers materialized when the XBone and PS4 shipped; I always thought most of the people playing on those had been playing on other platform already. Are you seriously saying that there were a significant number of people buying on two platforms?

If anything, wouldn't having to support five platforms raise costs a little?

It didn't make any sense to me either,

but there appears to be no arguing it...

Well, he's got a point. Without real sales data you can make up any fantasy you want, no matter how idiotic.

We don't know that Inqui is the highest selling BioWare game, do we? Just that it had the best launch? If new info's come to light I'd appreciate an update.

In any case, being on 5 platforms is a bad argument for why it sold well. If you have a PS4, there's no reason to buy it again on PS3.

Either way, I think we can all conclude that Bioware at E3 will be based around the following:

- Mass Effect 4
- New IP
- Mass Effect trilogy remastered.

So hopefully no Dragon Age Inquisition.

We already know EA's 2016 fiscal year titles and ME4 isn't one of them.

Yeah latest I would say is early 2017. Earliest probably end of next year now that I think about it, maybe September to November.

I agree with you to an extent. They are simplifying their games to allow new players to buy them, while disappointing their veteran players feel.

And I also added that the image only includes publicly announced games. ME4 hasnt been formerly announced yet so technically, it could still be released in fiscal Q4 though I doubt it. Also the ME remastered trilogy hasnt been formerly announced yet so that could still release fiscal 2016 Q3 or Q4.

Man, I hope DAI does not have a presence at E3. That game has been out for 6 months now, time to let it go and move on to more interesting/popular products such as Mass Effect 4 and possibly the new IP. At this point unless some new expansion that is STORY driven and not fetch quest driven comes out for DAI, I doubt I will ever come back to playing this game. MMO-like feel, bland protagonist, and short story. I just cannot wait for the ME4 news as well as the new Bioware IP news to start rolling out so that DAI can be forgotten about by the masses and we all focus our attention to the meat and potatoes of Bioware quality. I mean to me, DAI was closer to a design that I would expect from a Bethesda game, not a Bioware game.

Mass Effect 4/New IP > Dragon Age 4 (Yup lol time to move on) >Dragon Age: Inquisition

its not even the same team that's working on the ME4. all DLC is being handled by a secondary, smaller team.
