Demonstrating my build of Avvar found here:

Inb4, with your stats... meh, it doesn't really require skill.
You could aswell just spam random things all the time.
I don't know whether to be impressed by this video because with a class like the avvar this takes some serious skill, or disappointed in the fact that i'll probably never have stats like that. Listen i'm not one of those guys that whines and dislikes something like this just because you have a ton of promotes over me, but these enemies were doing less to you on perilous than they do to me on threatening. Which to me makes a video like this unrealistic and unreachable for most viewers. Regardless great play and good job on the solo, taking some tips from this demonstration to apply to my own play.
You missed a door
taking some tips from this demonstration to apply to my own play.
That's the point of a demonstration.
these enemies were doing less to you on perilous than they do to me on threatening.
Part of this was due to chilled defense, which activated quite a bit, but yeah I had to grind for all those stats.

It is rather impressive IMO. With regard to disappointment, I don't particularly care about other people stats. If it helps me to solo threatening with my Avvar and learn some better tricks, that would be sufficient. Drasca doesn't get hit very often, as you can see from the video. Some moments were quite hairy though. Also, Calpernia has had a major buff to her damage and barrier.
avvar is op
Very impressive.
Oh the video is nothing short of amazing avvar gameplay, and should be looked at by anyone wondering how to actually play the avvar with the build me and Drasca use. though i don't have stats like this or am i much of a solo player, i learned a lot from watching this and so will most people looking to make the most out of this build.

This is incorrect. You lose.
I guess I'll clarify. The whole point of this is to spam skills correctly, and in a certain order...definitely not randomly.

Yeah, this is the whole point. It doesn't matter what I do in my games, only how much I can help improve your gameplay and fun factor. The basics are there to serve as an example on what to do, what to target, what skill order to use, and when to walk away from the enemy.
It's also fun as hell. ![]()

This just proved my assumption that this passive should be last to get really.
It certainly isn't a priority, but it helps more in a team situation admittedly, and vs demons. Believe it or not, when you're the one who is chilled, the ice armor activates.
Ooookay, I shall give this Lightning aura a try then.
Curiously, I see you're also using a Greathammer, which most despise because of its lack of splash damage. Personally, I think Skywatcher looks off without one!

Also this, unfortunately.

Excellent demonstration! The Avvar is the only character out of the new ones that I haven't tried yet because everyone that I've seen play him has failed so hard (and people are hating on him) so I assumed he's bad. But with a good build in competent hands, he seems awesome! (which is logical)
Also, since people keep mentioning your stats, may I ask what they are? I wanna make a rough estimate how much worse my Avvar will be without them.
Not that it matters that much because I'll never be soloing perilous anyway. xD
I am a bit tired today for more play but I cannot wait to try the build out. ![]()
Great video, fun gameplay. I am also using the Maul of the Dragon since I don't usually auto-attack much, I mostly spam abilities.
It is funny how the Avvar proved to be so different than what those earlier preconceived ideas suggested. The Avvar is actually a powerhouse of damage and a ton of fun.
Impressive arrow dodging, especially on the first wave.

Lady's Wrath Rocks.
Normally for stamina purposes, I recommend a Greatsword like Starfang, Sulevin's Blade, Dragon GS, or a Greataxe like Axe of Dragon Hunter, but I happened to have a Superb Stamina amulet, and I love the look of the Maul of the Dragon (and it does help overall damage better if you have warrior's resolve + stamina amulet)
You're totally right about Skywatcher + Maul though!

Yeah, it isn't meant to be a solo demonstration, it is just easier to record solo.
Avvar IS hard, and he IS bad in a LOT of ways. I probably know his weaknesses better than anyone. He does have potential though, as you clearly saw.
My stats are godly right now. In that video I had over 110 con, 130 willpower and 80 cunning (rough estimate). I have more right now. Keep in mind, it isn't meant to play solo. I love my virtuosos, keepers, and elementalists barriers as much as anyone else, and the CC from mages Firestorm, Firewall, Pull of the Abyss, Static Cage, Veilstrike, Blizzard, Ice Mine etc.
I can imagine a necromancer Blizzard + Chilling Tremor (upgraded) / AOE freeze + Crushing Leap Shatter combo being pretty devastating to EVERYTHING. The team-up will kill fast enough that death siphon feeds Necro's Blizzard indefinitely.
I am all about the team game. Make friends, coordinate and synergize your abilities so much it feels natural, and devastate everything around you even when you're trying to die. My teammates are often bad at dying.
Impressive arrow dodging, especially on the first wave.
Thanks. You get used to the timing of enemy marksmen, making it possible to dodge more. You won't likely dodge everything, but every arrow missed is another chance at life.
How I feel as an Avvar without a bunch of promotions:

You know, I expected you to have a drastically different build than me, because, you know... you. But it's identical ![]()
