I still wouldn't use mounts.   I never used followers in Skyrim either, and also never used a mount.    The whole point to the games for me is to see and explore every nook and cranny.    Using a mount just means missing stuff.

I used mounts in games like SWTOR, where there is just huge areas to travel with absolutely nothing to run across, but if a game has stuff to stumble across I don't.

Pretty sure you won't be seeing full party of mounts anytime soon.   That's a HUGE resource hog on performance and these games are usually pushing the boundaries of FPS needed to get certified for consoles as it is.

Oh I loved using mounts.  Nothing feels more epic to me than riding on a mount, vs schlepping it everywhere on foot.  Especially when it came to cleaning up maps for the remaining shards scattered about. It was much more enjoyable criss-crossing maps on a mount collecting them vs running everywhere on foot.

Not sure how using mounts equates to missing stuff though...never found that to be a problem in my game, anyway.

Only two fixes I can think of would be to increase their sprint speed and have party members ride their own mounts.

So, I was playing today, riding about on my dear ol' Dracolisk, and thoughts happened? For better or worse. Or insignifigance. xD

Anywho, personally, I think a good (and hopefully simple enough?) way mounts could be further improved would be to incoperate them into the game more than they currently are. Perhaps this could even be done in DA:I via future DLC installments? Hum. Doubtful, of course, but! XD

A good example would be.... hum. A cutscene that starts with or shows the Inquisitor riding into a location, utilizing whatever mount they had, ah. Equipped? at the time. Having your horse/dracolisk/hart/nuggalope o' epicness show up in a more cinematic sense, even if just breifly, would be a nice personal touch to your experience as the player, and take advantage of this feature they've fashioned for us a bit more creatively, perhaps.

A more involved option could be some sort of chase sequence or something along those lines involving actual gameplay, such as if the Quizzy had to escape via their mount. That'd be fairly simple a concept, just your typical run, avoid objects, and try not to get caught kind of deal. It'd be similiar to the racing sidequest in that it would bring the mounts to your attention again, and incorporate them into legit gameplay. Plus, it'd give the dev team an opportunity to mix things up for a bit gameplay wise.

Eh! XD

More use for mounts would be nice, especially since I only use them to jump into the canyon in hissing wastes without killing myself, so I can reach the dog vendor stall quicker.

party banter not triggering is the reason why i never use mounts. if party banter still triggered while mounted, then i would use mounts.

That's the reason I cannot enjoy the mounts as much as I would like...other than that, they are awesome.

It would be nice, but there is a trade-off for things like this.  They have said they removed other elements of the game because of the 360 and PS3, so having four mounts moving across the screen could have lead to other things being removed and if that is the case I rather have my party disappear.

The only place "Console Skyrim" outsold "PC Skyrim" was in physical copies, which isn't a big surprise given that the vast majority of sales for PC is digital.

Sorry but you are incorrect

Skyrim sales : 23,270,000

Xbox 360 % : 59

PS3 % : 27

PC % : 14

In case you think i'm pulling those numbers out of my ass head here to view the stats http://www.statistic...s-v-statistics/

Interesting. However, the person that brought up console sales in the first place in this thread misunderstood my original point, that Skyrim currently enjoying 30k+ players on Steamcharts is mainly due to modding, of which consoles don't even factor in.  I'd love to know how many current players there are for Xbox and PS3 Skyrim players right now to compare but I'm not a console player so I have no idea if it's even possible to find that out.

The majestic War Nug!

OP I think having mounts for your companions is an awesome idea, and it would be nice to have a smart horse who does not agree with me when I am heading for a very large cliff and stops before I fall off. Many horses and Inquisitors died in the attempt at shortcutting it through the Hissing Wastes.

I noticed the misunderstanding about your original point and i would say that out of the 30k at least 28k of them are only still there due to modding. It is possible to get mods on to console btw, it's a pain in the ass but it is possible.

Bethesda themselves would have all those metrics on how big the current console player base is but it's hard to know if they would release the figures.
