Don't mind me, I'm just having fun here.

The best weapon for Duelist is not the Dragon Dagger it seems, but the level 10 unique Audacity, followed by the Nameless Blade. The target explodes for 75% weapon damage, and +5% damage per enemy within 8 meters masterwork effects respectively. The Dagger of the Dragon is my main-hand weapon here.

Be on the look-out for daggers with interesting effects to use as your off-hand weapon.

ZITHER! using the Blizzard staff is hilarious when he kills something. Gets heals AND they explode for 75% damage. Combine with the song that gives you health on hit, and health on kill. . .and he can be pretty durable.

Huh, Well, that's certainly something I'd not considered, it looked pretty damn awesome too

Parry? I think I've never used this skill. This is something new.
As for the dagger in hand.
You can spam bolt all day. You have enough crit chance to get enough stamina for it. And you have enough crit change to get enough damage.
For me bolt is 300 damage when non crit and 800-900 when crit. Nope, I still need my autoattack sometimes. Also explosion is based on damage which killed target. So bolt kill is ...meh.

I like it, it's very fun for leveling up. I easily clear stuff fast as a level 1 on routine. Need to find that cunning promotion farmer.

I've kept a few daggers around with interesting effects but lower damage than the ones I use, this could be fun... At work, so can't hear the audio on the video, but does damage ratings not matter on the offhand weapon, then?

On most Duelist attacks, no. There are a few attacks that uses off-hand, but that's limited. On the duelist, none except flanking attack (which is non-lethal anyway). So you want to consider off-hands with special effects if you don't see care about auto-attack damage.

Interesting, thanks. Will have to play around a bit with that, though I do auto-attack from time to time.

I think i still prefer agony for the crit damage bonus.

Do you have a list of abilities which use the main hand only?

How can you crit so much? I barely crit 900...

Passive: Crow's Nest Lookout +50% or +100% (10 meters) & Saavy

Willpower Promotes (+attack power)

Dragon Dagger Main hand (lots of base weapon damage)

Off-hand with crafted +critical damage bonus weapon upgrade (use craggy skin on offense slot) +20-30%

+Critcal Damage Rings +20% each x2 (if you don't have these, use +attack rings)

You can get 1200-1500 damage pretty easily with equipment and build loadout changes. At that point, you can 2-3 shot most smaller mobs.

this is very interesting, thanks!

is it really sure that (for most abilities) the damage comes from main hand,
whereas buffs like +crit / HOK etc. come from second hand,

respectively, maybe the buffs of main and off hand even are added up ?

This offers completely new strategies.

Really very interesting.

Buffs come from both weapons. Damage calculation uses main hand for most abilities in the Duelist trees though. Flanking is the primary exception for Duelist. Other DW Dagger rogues have some abilities that use off-hand for certain abilities and specific instances. There's references for that here:

yes - I know about Twing Fangs, etc.

But only in terms of "damage".

That also the buffs are added up is so great.

Is there a rundown somewhere how daggers actually work (main hand - offhand - abilities - AoE version)?

for an ability like broadsides it probably means that

- damage is taken from main hand
- attack% is ONLY taken from main hand (?)
- crit% + HOK are taken from both and added up ?

No, only main-hand base damage is taken for main hand skills. All other buffs, including +attack%, is added from both weapons. DW is OP

Lies! It's been updated since I read it thoroughly!

So, it's a good idea to put a dual blade dagger into the off hand? I've got a couple of decent ones.

Just curious, what would happen when Audacity stacks with Walking Death, endless explosions?

I have the Nameless Blade (5% dmg per enemy) but have found it to be rather underwhelming. Audacity seems more fun. Currently using Lady Jacostas with 1% heal per hit, which works nicely with swashbuckles 20% attackspeed.

I already get that with Audacity. Note the chain reactions. One target explodes, leaving the rest easier to kill, subsequently exploding with my damage, or killed by subsequent explosions.

I am curious to find out . . . though walking bomb procs aren't really all that often from walking death. Having a necromancer around is much more reliable.

*(#(&# Average. You aren't average just by entering this forum. Average pugs suck.

Observant minds take it upon themselves to be aware of details and curious ones test them out.

Definitely more fun. If only for the fact the Dragon explodes as you kill her.

I love audacity.  I have used it as my off hand for a long time on my assassin and love it on the duelist.  I only have one high level unique dagger, walking death, which caused me to try this out months ago and I have never looked back.

I kept it around just for the Lulz. I wish there were high tier items with cool effects. Really only the staves have cool masterworks.
