That is how it all started, for me. I started playing ME1 because Skyrim cooked my old PC's GPU and I couldn't run basically anything else, Surprisingly, it ran ME2 and 3 well enough, for a while.

I thought that was the main reason I kept playing this game so much, but it's clear now that I was wrong, since my PC can handle any game on the market now and yet I keep playing this. Kind of. Once in a while.

You know, it's just that good. Horribly full of flaws, and yet that good.

Just because you don't have a powerful enough PC to play newer games?  Or didn't upgrade to a next gen console?

To answer your question:

I have a desktop and a laptop that will play anything presently available in full HD at 60 fps.

I guess that means I play ME3 out of choice.

I also have not yet had any compelling reason to get a PS4 or Xbone, mostly because I'm still working through my back catalogue of 360 games.

Now, to deconstruct your question:

Even people with older PCs have a huge range of games they can play. Most titles aren't the latest AAA releases. So people playing ME3 are still doing it out of choice, even if they can't run The Witcher 3 or Battlefield Hardline.

My gaming PC can run every current game in full HD, with all details.

I play ME3 because it's fun and doesn't require much of my time, just ~20min here and there.

I've got sooooo many other games I could play but usually I don't have the time to get lost in them. Still haven't played Arkham City or Arkham Origins, despite them being pre-orders. Haven't finished Witcher 2 yet... no time.

Batman Arkham City is amazing, you should finish it before Batman Arkham Knight which will be GOTY this year from the looks of things.

I usually play because I'm always waiting on the Xbone to finish installing some crap or another.

My PC is powerful enough to handle any games. If not, my PC building buddy can fix that in an instant. But why play on PC when you can play on console with all games always having gamepad support and way, way less cheaters for online games?

Headsets and chat always work on consoles too.

And why I don't have a PS4 or X-Bone yet? Well, the only next gen game I'm interested in is Bloodborne, so I will admit being behind on getting at least a PS4 already.

EDIT - and as long as I'm posting on BSN, I'm still playing ME3mp.

^ lol gamepad.

If I want to play a racing game, I'll want a wheel. I I want to play a fly sim - I'll want a joystick. If I want to play an FPS or a strategy game - there's nothing better than mouse and keyboard.

The gamepad does a lot of things decently but very few things very well. The only thing I play with a gamepad is probably fighting and sports games, but an arcade stick is better in a fighting games too.

If you really want to use a gamepad, you can do so on PC anyway. No need to limit yourself to a console.

I have various Racing Wheels and Arcade Sticks too. I try out and buy all kinds of gamepads all the time. But one thing I'll always say no too is mouse and key gaming. Not for me and never will be for me.

EDIT - almost had me my WiiU gamepad yesterday for my WiiU ME3mp that I finally have. Maybe tomorrow will be the day I can finally start my WiiU account for ME3mp? ... Once that happens, I'll have ME3mp accounts for all consoles. PC can take a hike because everyone there plays with keyboard & mouse. And last thing I need is way super easier aiming to remove even more difficulty from a game I'm already too good for as is. That and I could never get comfortable with a mouse and key because I play ME3mp from the comfort of my bed with a gamepad in my lap and 3 pillows behind my head, and this setup would never work with a mouse a key setup and still be comfortable.

:) Of course. It's your choice. But that doesn't mean that gamepad is better.

At some point people should realize that there are hundreds of excellent games which can only be played on the PC. Flight sims, strategy games, most MMOs and so on.

I want to see someone play Civ5 or a similiar game with a gamepad. Or how about StarCraft?

It's a mystery why people play shooters with gamepads... how do they aim properly? Oh, they don't? The game does it for them? Awesome. Hardcore gaming at its finest.

I used a gamepad for my PC when I was playing Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Streetfighter, OMF2097 and so on. It's not bad for sports games either, although I am not a fan of those.

There are better input devices for anything else though.

I am pretty decent at playing shooters with a controller and I do admit pulling the trigger to shoot stuff is quite satisfying but those same shooters are exponentially better when played with mouse and keyboard. But driving with mouse and keyboard feels awkward to me so I use the controller while driving, and mouse & keyboard for shooting and moving on foot for the best experience possible.

For PC players, doesn't is feel like mouse aiming takes the fun out of aiming since you're basically just pointing your hand at the bad guys. ie. with a gamepad is feels more like you roleplaying actually aiming a weapon instead of.. well, versus pointing your hand at the bad guys.

Wat?

With the mouse, at least I am aiming, instead of having an auto-aim Haxtatron built in. And lol at playing the weapon (Deerbra goes nuts at this part) No game will be the same as aiming and firing a real weapon.

Yes, auto aim is the bane of playing ME3mp on console. Really don't know why an option to turn it off wasn't introduced. Especially since it's so poorly programmed. But even if it were properly programmed, I should still have a choice of where I aim my weapon at all times. Hate today's casual gaming trends.

You'd be surprised how bad the overwhelming majority of gamers is at pointing their hands at the bad guys

My pc can run DA:Inquisition and GTAV at 40 fps, and those 2 games take up almost 100 gigs of my HDD space (thus no space for Witcher 3 :(), guess what? For most of the time I'm still playing ME3MP.

ME3mp is the only game where I noticed this so called auto aim dread. But I'd still rather have this and a gamepad VS not having it and a mouse & key. The choice for me is that obvious.

And for ME3, I just avoid Sniping more then I should because of auto-aim. Most don't like Sniping to begin with anyway, because aiming problems outside of auto-aim.
