Am I the only one that is having trouble getting the group from before Horizon to be more than just a bunch of one convo wonders?

Only char that has talked with me more than once that actually matters is Jack.

Only constant for my team is Garrus for his Overload and sniper and he wont even talk to me again.

Playing through on a Paragon import char.

I wish it was possible to 'toggle' a conversation by pressing the action key with them, are you unable to do that in ME2 or am I doing something wrong?

I try to talk with all the party after each mission of special assignment and I get jack **** (no pun intended) from everyone that isnt Jack. Grunt might work, but I havent had him him long enough to actually have more than one convo yet.

So no one else is having a hard time with convos? I would think that this makes getting Paramour much harder to do when no one wants to talk.

Have you done any of the loyalty missions yet? They talk a bunch during that. However, I know that I was able to chat with everyone a bit just by going after the dialogue options on the left side of the convo wheel.

Only got Jacob and Miranda's missions available, just recruited Tali, and no one else will come forward for loyalty missions or talk to me. Jack is the only repeat convo I get and I think she might turn into the romance at this point since I didnt take her up on the easy sex.

It's not like ME1, where they talk after every mission. It seems they wait 2-5 missions or something between talks. Just speak to Kelly. She'll tell you when a crew member wants to 'talk'.

Kelly dont do **** for me. Jack is always ready to talk. Grunt has gotten a repeat with rubs it in for the first 4 to join.

Done a few. Spent way more time raping planets for resources. Got no need for anything besides a little Ezzo and Plat for weapons.

yeah no one talks to me either. especially garrus! After the first convo, all I get now is 'can it wait? I have some calibrations'. And it's been 12 hours of gameplay. wth?

I think I screwed up the scripting for jack, half way through the game, after her loyalty mission, she stopped having interesting things to say and I only had the option to "Talk about us." even though I wasn't looking to romance her.

I think they need to work on how they handle ending dialog threads.  Jacob and Grunt have clear indicators that you've run out of dialog and even quest options for them, with Jacob saying he's cool and will join you for drinks on the citadel after, Grunt plainly says he's got everything he needs too.

Garrus is a really bad example, he just sounds like he's busy but has more to say.  Same for Samara.

The dialog seems to update after every so many missions, or landings (sometimes I'd land on Illium and go back to the ship a couple of times, and Kelly would update me). Also, the post-suicide mission dialog is a bit of a let down for me. I brought everyone through, and then they just sit there anticipating the suicide mission. Oh well, as far as flaws go, this is minor.

You need to do the loyalty missions, otherwise noone will talk to you much. but don't worry, once they open up, there is TONS of rich dialogue.

I played renegade and i got all mine almost immediately after recruiting them and talking with them a couple times. got 4 of the loyalty missions during illium, the others shortly after that.

Well going to do the Loyalty missions for Jack, Miranda, and Jacob to see if I cant get some chars to open up.

I think I might be ****ing the psycho by time the game is over with.

Even after the loyalty missions the crew this time around is much quieter than before. In ME1 and even in DA:O, your party members would chat after all major missions and some side quests. Yet here, everyone's silent for long stretches of time. For a game that wants to build itself on its intriguing characters, they don't seem to want us forging any kind of emotional connections with them. It's one of my major criticisms with the game right now.

Unless its Garrus which in my case went a bit like, "Oh, thanks for not letting me shoot that guy... I'm busy with my skulking in the gunnery room, go away." Granted when you met him it was great, oh hey its Garrus, cool, we talk, you get shot, we talk after mission and then you tell me you are busy the rest of the time.

But maybe thats because I'm playing a male character and all the dialog after the loyalty mission is for the female shep. Still, it annoyed me that Garrus was so distant and that wasn't addressed.
