I read about this in another forum but I wanted to mention it again in the hoeps that it can be addressed/fixed in a future patch. I've done all of Josephine's dialogue and I'm at Skyhold and got far enough but I can't start her first quest. Someone said it was "a tracking flaw in the character controller and the result is a conflict on the character position -game believes she is in two places. You must clear the condition manually by going to a save before the flaw or find her and try and clear it w/o markers." My save before that is like forty hours so i really don't want to have to do that so I'd appreciate this getting fixed in the future.

EDIT: I also can't start the bard's quest. I'm guessing for the same reason since the forum said that "any NPC can see this error when improper sequences are triggered." So yeah, please fix this.

Usually caused by a conflict like this: Josey is needed for the judgements and is also needed to start her inner circle quest. Those judgment quests seem to trigger issues where a timer error or open ended quest getting the accused to skyhold cause errors in other quests.  The character controller is supposed to detect NPC conflicts and set priority to help clear them, but it doesn't work reliably.  Yes, this can happen to any NPC that has potential conflicts.

You could run around and try to resolve the conflict manually, but without a diagnostic tool for the companions to help -it could be challenging.  So, usually backup to a milestone save ro far enough to avoid the conflict.

What do you mean by run around and try to resolve it manually?
