In the future, would it be possible for mounts to do different things? For example, since horses don't take hits very well, could they be faster than dracolisks and harts? Perhaps harts could climb rough terrain? Just a thought!

Mounts for other party members?
That was one of Bioware's ideas that had to be cut because it was too much for last gen

Being able to engage in combat from the mount would be pretty sweet, especially if you're an archer. Couple this with companion mounts and my PC would seldom trek on two feet.

Definitely mounted combat. I know it would probably be a bit awkward and very limited, but I just like the idea of attacking from a mount. Maybe just a normal attack from the rider and one mount-specific attack. Horses can trample, Harts can gore, and Dracolisks can...breathe fire? I don't know. Whatever Dracolisks do.

Some basic attacks from a mount would be fine, though in the case of archers, you have harder hitting abilities like explosive shot and full draw, which will simply kill most normal enemies in a single hit.

Just make them faster and each mount has different speeds so when I ride one with the word "Lightning" describing it's speed it then actually moves fast enough to cause a wind effect and can actually cover distance faster than me jumping like a kangaroo lol.

I think being able to use abilities on a mount would be a bit too much since you already have greatly enhanced mobility (especially if they increase the speed as they should) and at least one hit of armor. There would be no reason to fight unmounted.

No more weird mounts, just give horses to my companions. I have three, make them follow my path, have some actual companion dialogue for a change instead of turning it off.
All I want.

I would love attacking from a mount. And I would love for any of the mount to have some special ability. Even if I have to say... every time I think about fighting while on a horse, I remember Shadow of the Colossus. Agro. Best. Horse. Ever.
It would be cute having even some kind of interaction with the mount. Giving it a name, and having it react to the PC. somehow, so we could see that it recognyze his owner. (maybe only if is the most used mount).
By the way...there an actual black horse in the game? I didn't find one for now.
And yes. Companion need to have their own mount, and have banter while traveling on mounts.

Mounts in the game suck, would rather walk because it's more efficient. Witcher 3 does it better.
actually the only game who have ever done mount very well I think is ICO: Shadow of the Colossus.

More (some) background for mounts. Bog "unicorn" was commented only once in "Good Morning Thedas", despite it's a spirit possessing a horse's corpse.
Also battle system and search function, when riding.
By the way...there an actual black horse in the game? I didn't find one for now.

The only virtue of mounts is the ability to fall a long ways and suffer no damage. It makes getting around certain maps a lot less tedious
Losing 1/3 of my health dropping from knee-high ledges in TW3 really makes me miss that horse.
