I was looking for a topic where this was discussed (but didn't find one). Is there a list mentioning which VAs voice the mp characters? Are they some of the "Additional voices" in the credits? Or maybe you have any suggestions? xD

 

I swear that some of them sound very familiar and they are probably BW often used voice talent. It's sooooo bugging me that I cannot check it anywhere.

 

P.S. I am posting this here because I doubt the SP story forums care too much about the MP characters and you guys are the ones that have listened to them the most (THAT HAM WE HAD AT CAMP). If it's not the right place... oh well.

 

Edit: Ok, so we have a few of them figured out.

 

Alchemist - Belinda Cornish

 

Archer - Nick Blood (unconfirmed)

 

Zither - Alec Newman

 

Isabella - Victoria Kruger

It's a wonderful question and one I've tried to discover myself.

 

I was recommended trying Caroline Livingstone, BioWare's Voice Over Director & Producer

and tweeted in her direction to that effect, though (at the time) a 12 VA answer is hardly something that fits in a tweet

and in any case, I felt uncomfortable bugging her beyond that attempt.

I'm 99% sure Anthony Howell (who is also Knight Captain Rylen and Gaspard) is voicing him.

Alec Newman is voicing Zither. I'm not sure about the others.

Oh wow! Is he the archer?! He sounds so much like the archer (he was one of the voices that were most bugging me).

Does he have twitter? With the risk of sounding like someone from the stone age, I cannot find him.   With the risking of sounding creepy, I am usually good at finding people.

 

P.S. Also, does the Avvar sound a bit like Simon Templeman (Kain/Legacy of Kain, Loghain/DA) to any of you? I know his voice is usually... deeper, but he also has this softer voice from time to time in some games and there is something that reminds me of him.

One of the Inquisition agents you escort - the non-douchebaggy one - I'm 99% sure is voiced by Simon Templeman because he sounds a LOT like Loghain.

 

Meanwhile, I did pick up a fun fact while playing with one of the BioWare devs a while back: Luka the Alchemist is voiced by Belinda Cornish, who is Mark Meer's wife. Yes, crazy mushroom-eating dwarf is male Commander Shepard's wife.   Although she is only listed as "additional voices" on IMDB.

I've always felt kind of bad for the people who voiced the MP characters (who also voice a bunch of people in SP). It's not really fair because people who want to hire them might not because they can't actually tell who voiced who. It's just especially odd since all of the characters in MP are named. They should at least list them.

 

@DragonRacer That is indeed Loghain's voice! I had no idea about Luka though, that's hilarious! Didn't she voice Rana Thanoptis (spelling) in ME?

She did voice her! And omg, that is quite awesome! She is quite good, the Alchemist definitely sounds... distinctive. xD Great find, DragonRacer! And yeah, the nice escort guy is definitely voiced by Simon.

It's the one time I'm always happy to see 'Loghain.' xD Can't stand that other one. Got him through a zone once without a scratch and then he...I dunno...tripped over something on the way out right before the last mob fell. 'Do your job, fools!' I'm sorry, darling, do I need to hold your hand all the way back to the Ambassador so you can remind me that everything is above my pay-grade before you give your report? He's lucky there's no friendly fire. I'd stick him at least once.

No you're right, he doesn't seem to have one. I just assumed he did  . Sooo, the next time someone talks to Nick Blood, ask him about his DAI voice work, thx.

 

He was on the Geek and Sundry Twitch kickoff stream. If I'd known, I probably could have spammed chat until I got an answer. Hold on, isn't Felicia Day a big Dragon Age nut? Maybe she would know or find out.

I thought the Katari sounded like an American version of the butler Carson from Downton Abbey  it's not him, although that would have been cool.

Yes, I'm a little sad about that to be honest. The Avvar sounds so "squeaky" to me. He doesn't sound like a hulking monster at all

Yeah, a lot of people didn't like that at day 1 of the DLC - he pretty much seems to have got the AW's voice in MP.

In my version, Thornton and Skywatcher have the same actor.

 

Which is great, cause Skywatcher is the first character I'd legitimately say I'm gonna play at a 50:50 rate.

 

He sounds like Captain grizzly badass as the Hunter; and like a friendly, old clichée Native American chief as the Avaar, so I can't help but think he's just bullsh*tting as one of the two.
