I see a common fix for scars not showing seems to be changing the mesh settings, but even after I set mesh to ultra and restart the game, none of the scars on the slider scale show up. Is there any other way to fix this problem?

I had the same issue until recently I set the shader quality to high, and then scars appeared for me. You might try that if you haven't already? : )

Yes, you should set shaders to high or ultra to have scars. If I remember correctly, the fix you mention worked in previous versions of the game because mesh and shader settings were linked, but since patch 2 or 3 both settings are now separated.
